I have been noticing that when I head out to my truck in the morning (and other times) that the doors are unlocked when i KNOW that I locked them the night before.

This has happened multiple times but seems to be the worst when it's in my driveway.

Last night my truck got rifled through. I don't keep anything valuable in there - but still it's annoying as hell knowing you can't keep the truck secure.

    Anyone else have similar issues?

Try this. Lock your truck for a few minutes. Then press the unlock on the fob, and do not touch the truck! See if it will automatically lock itself after about 30 seconds to a minute?
If it doesn't?? Check your settings of the vehicle.
If it does?? Then you might not be locking your truck. (My wife has this issue, but somehow it's my fault!:annoyed:)

Thanks. I'm sure I'm locking the truck. At first I thought maybe it was me but I've been very carefully checking. I'll have to dig through the menus to see where the locking settings are. That's a good suggestion.

After getting divorced I quickly realized how many mistakes I 'stopped' making. :)

My truck has never unlocked itself. It has however locked itself without my permission. I disabled that annoying feature along with changing the fob to unlock all 4 doors with one push.

My truck has never unlocked itself either, but you're not alone.

Some people have posted similar stories on here.

    I would try the following:

a)If you are using two key fobs, make sure that both are well away from the truck when you lock. The truck will lock then immediately unlock if one of the fobs is inside the truck.

b)Try putting the fobs into sleep mode at night. On the fob, hold down the lock button while pressing the unlock button twice. That prevents it from sending the unlock signal to the truck. If the truck is still unlocking with both fobs disabled, there's something wrong. Take it to the dealer.

RTM your radio has programable settings to set what doors unlock when the truck is opened.

Do you lock the doors and than double check if your locked them with the driver door ? Simple mistake . I double check by pulling the back door handle .

I had forgotten about putting the fob to sleep. That's good advice.

My fob is programmed to unlock all doors at once.

    FOB [fahb]
    (noun, used with object) :
    (1) Key Fob - Honey have you seen my Key Fob?

    Definition: Fking obnoxious bullsh*t

    Sorry couldn't resist - these Key Fobs - don't get me started ( obviously ) - I would never buy a vehicle
that used them. I'd rather walk... because sooner or later someone ELSE is gonna be driving away with
your vehicle because they hacked your fob...

After you lock your doors and go in the house, where does your fob live? Do you keep it in your pocket, hang it on a hook...etc. This doesn't happen with my Tacoma, but with my last car, the key ring would trip the panic button every time I got off the couch, or bent down to pick something up. It was super annoying to deal with and I had to start using 2 key rings.

It also would happen with a fob garage door opener that I have on my motorcycle keys. Not fun realizing your garage was open all night with valuable tools and bikes ready for the taking. It only happened once and nothing was missing, but I immediately hang my motorcycle keys on a hook when I come into the house from now on.
