    I work for the engine group un-named company who builds these...It has been fixed since then but yes it was quite the problem.

    I would say yes. The diesel engines aren't like the ones you find the trucks. The cylinders are modular instead being built as a whole engine block. Saves weight and easier to replace.

    The piece is called a power assembly, its pretty much a cylinder head per cylinder. They do this to save weight and also it is easier to change them out rather than having one big cylinder head.
