Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
I know it's a PITA but I did a good job on my build documenting everything. Go there and look for pics. I had so many I had to get permission to have them all from Bob ;)

Most high clearance bumpers come with a support bracket for the bed sides. I know CBI and Pelfry do for sure.

That's the only two I know of. ATO and Brute Force do not.

Not sure the CBI can even qualify as hi-clearance anyways, more of a mid-clearance.

Not sure that I would buy a bumper from a company that skipped that detail...pretty shitty ommission IMO. Pelfry does have a higher departure angle, CBI is more EAF...I bought CBI because I preferred the looks of it.

If you have to make your own bed side support the cleanest and simplest thing to do is to make a long L bracket that bolts onto the rivet nuts on the bed rib and reaches out to the bed side.

Hard to call it a detail when Toyota already covered that department.

I'd rather my bedsides not be attached to/ touching the bumper.

    Yes
...but when you cut the bedside for a high clearance bumper you eliminate what Toyota supplied leaving a floppy bed side. That is why I say I think it is a crappy ommission for a bumper maker to not include a nice part to compensate for that.

Well Billy didn't include anything when I bought my bumper. So instead of crying and bad mouthing him for not including some kind of mount, I made one. Many folks have just modified the stock ones as pictured above. Who gives a fuck. The kind of people who are willing to install a high clearance rear bumper aren't usually the type of person who would not have a solution to the problem in their head. Just sayin...

They're not. Attached to the bed.
Toyota supplied one still works. Just needs to be bent and a new hole drilled.
