    Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
    So after much research on building my own trailer from scratch I determined that doing so here in VA is an absolute PITA and too expensive to make it worth my time/money....so building it off another platform should work well for me.

    So to avoid any DMV issues I purchased a brand spanking new Lowe's 4x6 Utility Trailer. In all her brand spanking new glory it is really a big POS.

    My goal here is to have a usable utility trailer that I can also transfer all my gear over to making the truck wide open for activities and not dragging all my crap and tent on the trail.

    Plans are to do the following things:
    1st Gen Leafs (already have them in the backyard)
    Full width axles
    6 lug hubs
    FJ wheels
    315s
    Diamond Plate deck and sides
    Rack for my RTT and mounts to lock up my pelican cases.

    That's about it for now. Don't be surprised if this is a super slow build since I am more focused on getting the Taco ready for Moab at this point but I will update my progress here to assist others.

    Ohhh she is gonna be fully capable of 100 but that 55 with a trailer speed limit in a lot of places really sucks!

    really? hmmm...i know the uhaul i took from NY to CO had 55 on the wheel wells, but i ignored that "suggestion" and was going 80+ through the midwest...didn't know there were restrictions

    Anyway, I have been debating whether to sell the bedrack. I love the idea of not having to go back and retrieve a trailer. On the other hand I fucking loathe having to break camp to go anywhere. Not to mention if the wifer want's to hang back at camp while I go punch hookers with the boys.
    I have been looking online at the Chasers, Kodiaks and a few military surplus and just cant seem to decide...
