    AEM says these pumps are rated for up to 18 volts. Looks like this rig is getting the fuel pump resistor delete mod. :D

    Yes, but this week has been much swampier and rainier than normal.

    I could drive the truck into the garage to work in it, but the fuel system isn’t in tact, so it doesn’t run. I could push it, but the driveway is on an incline and it’s a heavy bitch. Would need a help from a few neighbors to get it turned around and up the driveway. Again raining, so not doing that.

    Maybe I’ll go pick up an EZ Up tent if the weather doesn’t improve.

    For things bigger than sugar ants I have a product called Demon. I mix it with 1/2 the recommended water. It kills em fast. The terrier finds the baby copper heads in the yard.

    I haven't heard of anyone actually removing it, but I'm about to. It is a .75 ohm resistor. The ECM can decide when to run the pump through the resistor or not. I'm not sure what strategy the ECM uses to decide, but I'm not giving the ECM a choice.

    Where is the resistor physically located? Is it the large one behind the driver side headlight? I cannot remember.

    So is this just another way to increase fuel pressure, except this should increase it all the time right? and not only when under boost like with the FPR?

    The ECM uses the resistor to feed a lower voltage to the fuel pump at times it deems that full pump output is not needed. So at low RPM, light load. etc it runs through the resistor.

    On mine it's on the driver's side inner fender panel above the tire. I've reallocated that space for my Bussman RTMR relay/fuse box. Currently the resistor is homeless and tied to the brake controller. That resistor gets to be about 300 degrees or so when in operation. Need to keep it in a spot that has some decent ventilation. If deleting was an option, I'd look into the ramifications of it. It's not just a run of the mill resistor, it's a pretty serious bit of heat sink.

    I’ll let you know how it works out. Provided it doesn’t set any CEL, there should be no noticeable difference other than the fuel pump getting full power at all times.
