After about a week of researching every tonneau cover in existence, I settled on the Lomax and ordered from @GotExhaust. Thank you to everyone on this thread for all the incredible feedback! I can't tell y'all how excited I am to install it!

How did the HVAC tape work out so far? I'm expecting my Tri-Fold cover to be delivered today. I was thinking of trying Gorilla Tape, it is black, super strong, and top feels very durable and slippery. My only concern is if it does not work as expected, will the tapes residue after time (as most duct type tape's residue tends to do) be difficult to remove as its adhesive is very strong. Also what have others done with this problem of coarse finish chaffing on the Lomax Tri-fold front seal?

Haven’t had enough time or miles to tell how this HVAC tape will hold up or if it prevents chaffing on the seal at the front of the cover. Took the cover off once, tape still looks good as does the seal. Probably most good tapes are going to leave a residue when removed. Haven’t heard of others discussing whether they have had chaffing at the front cover seal on the rough finished rail under the window.

Kudos to Luke at Truck Alterations for a prompt delivery and great discount on my new Lomax Tri-Fold cover. The install went very smooth requiring only slight final adjustments. I am very happy with the look and function of this cover. My rail mounted thru axle bike mount didn't even need the modification I was expecting to do with cover install. I did apply a strip of Gorilla Tape to the front bulkhead of bed hoping to avoid chaffing to the cover seal that was mentioned in another thread.

The Lomax arrived just in time for hunting season. I would highly recommend contacting Luke if interested in the Lomax. His price probably can’t be beat.

The feet we have mounted at the store have all been solid at install and we have had no comebacks or complaints from internet orders either.

There is no rack system that I have seen specifically designed to work with the Lomax that is available for the Tacoma. However I have heard of folks using Thule systems and making them work by mounting the tracks on the bed sides and working up from there.

Anybody go back and redo their weather stripping? I’m thinking I didn’t put it high enough

I've been putting off ordering mine because I'm still torn between the Stance and regular model. I really want to be able to go full bed without having to remove the cover since I may not be at home to store it after I remove it, but I'm not 100% sold on sticking those things on top of my truck. I've even looked into getting an aerosol can of matching Blazing Blue paint to help them blend in.

My question now is this - with colder weather setting in, and the recommendation to let the cover sit closed for something like 48 hours after installing, does the outside temperature have a big impact in the rubbers needing more time, or the seal not being as good as if I were to do this in the summer?

Instead of the stance you could always go with a BAK MX4 if you dont want to put those parts on your roof.

For install in colder temps it will be fine. It will just take longer for the rubber and seals to flatten and really seat. it is preferred you do it somewhere warm and let it stay in a warm spot for a little while but it will be fine if that isnt an option. It will just take longer for the rubber to find a home and fully seal. Wait for a sunny day and let the sun shine on the bed cover all day right after install. It should help a little.

I’ve read so many complaints about the MX4 I’m wary.

Good to know the cold won’t be a major hassle. Thanks.

Another good option that functionsmsimilar to the MX4 is the brand Undercover. Check them out and let me know if you would like a quote on anything.

I currently have the undercover flex and thinking of swapping it for the lomax because the undercover takes up height inside the bed and I want to maximize it. The lomax can hold more weight on top also.

Thanks to @GotExhaust for a great deal and fast shipping! Love the look and functions great. Was between the Lomax and the MX4 and decided on the Lomax for the ability to remove it completely in just a few seconds. Very happy with the result.
