Lomax Hard Tri Fold Tonneau

I was in a store today in Arlington, TX that had Lomax Stance(urathane) and Lomax Matte Black on display. It was very helpful to see them side by side. The urathane wasn't as glossy as I expected (a good thing) and the texture is smoother than I expected (a good thing). They also had a Armor Flex and UltraFlex on display and I like both of them too. The ArmorFlex is more glossy than the Urathane Lomax. There's things I like about both covers but I'm pretty sure I've decided on the Lomax Urathane.

Here's a few side by side photos that might help others. Sorry, I dont have photos of the ArmorFlex snd Lomax side by side. The texture of the Lomax urathane doesn't seen like it would be hard to keep clean because it's a smooth texture but it is a little more glossy than the matte.

 

Is there a really detailed install video somewhere that’s up to date and accurate for a Tacoma install? I ordered my cover from @truckalter and it arrived super fast. My truck itself didn’t get delivered until yesterday so I am trying to put my Lomax trifold together and having a terrible time. Should there be 6 black bolts to hold the brackets? My bag only has 4 and I don’t know what to do. I’m not sure if I got the wrong kit or what.

That’s the video I was using but my kit is slightly different. The little pieces that slide into my rails are black not silver and on the cab end of my side rails I have a gray plastic piece that sticks out, unlike the video where he just has these black metal tabs. I’m also short 2 black bolts for the 6 brackets. I’ll see if I can post a picture

 

I’ve installed 4 of the 6 brackets and this is all I have left in the bag.
Edit: found some stainless steel bolts that matched so I was able to finish the install. What a headache, but at least it’s done and looks great!

 

Sounds like they didn’t send all the hardware. It happens. I still might reach out to the seller though and let them know not everything was included.

Sorry to see you had issues with missing hardware but glad you got it finished. I haven't installed one of these yet but will be next month. The part at the front edge of the rail does look different from the video and also different from another video I've watched. Maybe Lomax changed the design on this part. It would be great if someone could either confirm this or let you know that the bolt/bracket kit isn't right for the cover you purchased.

 

Still had this in my notes, I had the first batch of the stance covers and was missing a bracket.

My first time on here. I appreciate all of the information on the Lomax tonneau cover. I purchased a 2022 SR5 earlier this year. I ordered an OEM soft cover from the dealer a few days ago but they said I had an error in the shipping address and rather than call they sent an email saying they canceled my order and refunded my credit card. All good since I found this thread and think I will try to get one of these instead. Thanks everyone.

 

How much for the OEM soft cover?

They had online sale price of $550. Not sure if that is a good deal. I have not been able to find out much about this cover.

 

I’d think you are better off with a hard cover for a few bucks more.

Just want to give you a quick update. PM'd Luke at @truckalter for the price on a Lomax TriFold... definitely a savings. Ordered immediately and received the Tonneau in ~2 days. Installed it, and noticed an issue, reached back to Luke he went to bat for me directly with Lomax and the distributer... got it taken care of lightening fast without me having to pick up the phone. Extremely happy with my low profile Lomax, extremely happy with the dedication that @truckalter displays for their customers... just don't see that from other companies much anymore. Thanks Luke... next time I'm in the area, first 4 or 5 beers are on me!

 

I just want to know how he gets them shipped so fast. I got mine quicker than Amazon Prime items.

You could, if you really knew what/where you wanted, place the OEM cleats between the rail mounts?
Can you get a mountain bike in the back of a 5.2' bed with two of the panels folded back?
