I think ai understand your explaination but just for my clarity, does the panel next to cab fold up to give a full use of the whole bed?

 

On the standard models of the Lomax is does not. But on the Stance model the cover folds vertically behind the cab to expose the whole bed.

Just installed this cover yesterday evening (urethane finish), and got to test it out in the rain today. Install went smoothly. Installed the seals as instructed, including sloping ends down between headwall and sidewalls. Made sure the rails were level and square. For anyone that's had this cover for awhile, a few questions/concerns that cropped up:
-With the rain today there are leaks on both corners right at the headwall/sidewall junction of the bed, letting quite a bit of water drip inside. I installed the U-shaped weather stripping on the headwall, but read some other posts mentioning this seal is unnecessary for this truck. The headwall is already ~1/8inch higher than the sidewalls, and putting weather stripping along that end seems to lift the cover up too much, which may be contributing to this leak. It's certainly causing water to pool on top of the cover. Before I rip off the weather stripping there to see if that fixes it, does anyone have any other recommendations? Maybe additional weather strip patches at the corners?
-The rear crossbar (right where the latches are) is coming detached from the cover (it appears to be attached via adhesive, and adhesive appears to not be sticking). I saw a few other people had this issue earlier in this thread, but couldn't find if agricover helped resolve it. Since it's just adhesive, it should be an easy DIY fix. Just concerned about longevity since the cover has only been installed less than 24 hrs, and have only opened and closed it maybe a dozen times. It appears that the adhesive is not sticking at all on that side. As stated above, rails are level and square. It has not been subjected to any excess force, just normal opening/closing. Anyone else have any experience with this same issue? Best resolution to contact Agricover? Or just DIY it with better adhesive?

We sell a ton of the Lomax's and have very few issues with them especially compared to others...

First I would remove the front bulkhead seal. They include it in all kits now but many trucks don't need it if the bulkhead is nearly level with the sides or above.

For the rear that isn't adhering I would reach out to their customer service for some more adhesive as it normally holds fine. Also on that make sure your rails are level because if they aren't in places undue pull on the latches when they catch and can pull the latch bar loose. Not for sure that is the issue but worth checking.

 

Thanks for the reply. I'll reach out to agricover. Rails are definitely level, and there is even a slight gap between catch and rail (so there should be no pressure exerted on the crossbar while closed). I only noticed the detachment issue when lowering the last 1/3 into closed position.

I bought the MX4 for a 22 Tacoma.

Severely disappointed the tonneau doesn’t include the drop down rail adapters any longer. I looked at the pdf before ordering and also the included instructions indicated the drop down adapter were part of the kit.

Called customer service and they confirmed it is no longer included.

Any workaround so I can continue using the existing bed rails?

Yea I also just received a MX4 for my 21 Tacoma, opened the box and seen the same thing, not really a big deal for me. But missing several parts is a big deal and getting ahold of custom service has been a nightmare.

Did BAK get the missing stuff resolved for you?

 

Installed Lomax, love it no leaks. If you read the instructions, which I did after installing it.. I does not tell you to install the front weatherstrip, I questioned it and looked at how well it fit without. Then I water tested it and found NO leaks.
Only issue I had was the urethane coating was sprayed on from Rt rear to the Lt frt and ended up missing the Lt frt sides of all the diamond plate, Half shiny and half coated. They stepped up and offered money off or ship it back to replace. I took the money off.

 

How do I get a quote and are there many options? I'm thinking some sort of lomax cover.
