Either way you're still dead. Maybe took some people with you?

What's the point? It's not a war, it's a riot, and now people are stepping over your body to get the stuff you battled so violently to save. Good work!

I think every time theres a riot the military should roll on on a chopper and mow everybody down. Next time no body would riot.

Perhaps you know what it feels like to kill somebody, but I don't, I don't care to, and I would avoid it if I could. This includes letting people take my stuff if that's the alternative. My safety and the safety of my family is one of the few things I'd kill for. Stuff is not important enough to take a life, that's what insurance is for. But like you said, there are different points of view out there.

I understand you sir, My insurance will not cover riots and yes if someone comes in this hood or to my house I hope the man, woman or kid is right with God. I will not stand by and do nothing.. I feel sorry for you if you don't understand.. Jim

I believe I understand you, but I have a couple points to make. First off, get better insurance. Secondly, can you honestly predict how you'd react in a situation of "peril"? Based on your earlier responses I can guess that you'll say that you can and that you'll "take care of business". But I know I can't predict how I'd act because I've never been in that scenario. But I'd like to think I wouldn't shoot somebody dead because they tried to steal my TV. I'm not saying I'd give it to him on a silver platter. I'm not against standing up for myself. But I wouldn't shoot a thief unless they put my family in danger.

Unless he has an AK. then there are 30 or 40 dead before they take him.

I think this quote right here tells you everything you ever need to know about why we cannot have rational discussion in this country.

We are forgetting the topic here...

The issue was that people in London were getting beat to death. Maybe not only because they didn't have guns, but that's sure a big reason. I can tell you for damn sure all these people knew what was going on. If I was in that situation and someone broke down my door, there would be zero hesitation. Shoot until they don't move anymore. Period.

Just trying to get you all back on track. I agree that guns aren't the save all answer, but they sure as hell aren't the cause of all the worlds problems. Everything has a time and a place, and I think guns had a place in the London riots. Give them to the cops, no doubt, but citizens would, not could, still be alive is they had some form of reliable self defense. Sure, there would be more dead rioters, but they made their bed, as far as I'm concerned.
