Hey all, my next big project is turning my truck into my get away, fishing, camping truck, you get the idea. I wanted to still be able to haul stuff and therefore had the top platform still flat. I'm currently in the ideation phase and decided to mock out some ideas I had from watching youtube and looking on tw.

I'm going to be picking up wood this thursday and will report back with the initial preliminary cuts. Right now I'm trying to get every measurement figured out.

Any ideas / suggestions, hardware suggestions, tips you may have I would gladly appreciate them.

have you thought about future power needs? i just shortened my DS full length drawer and built a battery box. The idea being i can still use the truck bed for hauling most things i need to haul, maximizing internal camper space, and keep things generally out of the way

Make sure to have some air holes/ventilation. Inevitably going to have some water get in there and you'll want enough air that it can dry instead of grow mold.

And think about upgrading your suspension if you haven't already. Builds get heavy FAST. Custom/HD leaf pack, air bags, something.

Tires, Softopper, fully armored, winch, many pinstripes.
What do you have on top? I was originally thinking of a drawer system, but with my softopper, that doesn't leave much for headroom.

If I was doing something like this I would design in some space that allowed me to store longer items under the platform. (Using the full length of the bed)
