The Misses and I are expecting a new 2020 Taco (TRD Sport AC MT-6) and I want to get a topper for it. But I don't really want to pay new prices for something that I will only use about half of the time.

Will a topper built for a long bed 2nd gen fit? What about 1st gen?

I don't care how pretty it is. As long as it fits and functions I'm good with it, and I'm pretty handy with sand paper and a spray gun.

Pretty sure they dont fit across, the bed sides and tail gate are wider than on the 2nd gens.

Phooey! I guess if I want one I'll just have to suck it up and pay new prices.

Nope. Third gen bed is taller than 2nd gen. And bed dimensions are totally different than 1st gen

Buy right the first time, your Misses and new Tacoma will like it better too.
