Hi Everyone so I decided I wanted to a get aluminum max modular rack by KB voodoo with the tonneau cover bracket. I heard that the 58" rack would mount to a short bed tacoma and it seems there's no instructions out there. So I was wondering if anyone has photos or instructions on how to do this?

Are you saying 58" long?? If so, I don't think that is gonna work. The bed length is only 5' (60" +/-) and the side rails to attach the rack do not go full length. Not sure how long they are though. Measure them and see how short they are from 58".

    PS: Heard from who?

Well that is EXCELLENT!! Got a pic of the front mounting spot??? Looks good proportionally.....My home made one one my long bed looks like it should go on a short bed BECAUSE I used the rails!! Didn't know about just using other mounting bolts. Oh, well.

So it seems that Taco_Dak, already answered your questions but heres my build for addition confidence that a long bed rack does fit on a short bed tacoma. The only thing i would do it go out and buy a longer M6 thread screw. If you decided to use the original screw off the Tacoma it barely has a enough threads to give a good torque down. The mounting screw closest to the cab will utilize the tracks as it should.

Also build instructions is very vague. It gives you a rendering of the product to build off of and says to build rack upside down on a flat surface then install. If you do decide to buy one i suggest to install everything upside and on a flat surface as recommended but not to torque anything down until installed on the truck. It took some pushing and pulling in order to align the mounting holes to the tonnaeu cover brackets.

Thanks for the added info. ALL instructions seem to range from lacking to terrible anymore. I wish all companies would hire some neophyte who knows nothing about their product to critique their instructions before finalizing them.

    Looks GOOD!!!

Thanks for this post. Does anyone know if this works with a backflip g2 cover? Or should I order the shorter rack. On the kbvoodoo site it says it will not work, but I saw something on here that said you could use longer screws and it would work. I can't find that post again though...
