Hey there. Just wondering if anyone knows if rock sliders for a shortbox tacoma mount in the same spot on a long box. Im aware they wont protect passed the cab corner but im wondering if the mount holes are the same. Thanks!

Depends if the truck is an access cab or a double cab... Access cabs (only avail. in long bed) & double cab short bed sliders are compatible but double cab long bed sliders have different spacing/mounting.

I would trust BAMF’s response (post #2) in this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/dcsb-sliders-on-a-dclb.663844/

Double cab short bed and double cab long bed will have the same mounting points.

The access cab long bed will have different mounting points.

    This is correct.
The sliders for a 3rd Gen Access Cab Long Bed are the same as sliders for a Double Cab Short Bed. Sliders for a Double Cab Long Bed are different.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
No offense, but I think you've got it mixed up.
DCSB & ACLB (normal bed) should be the same.
DCLB has a longer wheelbase therefore the mounting locations will differ.

interesting, i always assumed that the aclb was the same bed parts as used on the dclb, and any variation was in the underbody frame extensions.

The mounting points are under cab. The sliders would not be mounted any where under the bed. The only difference between sliders DCLB and DCSB are is the length.

That is correct. All access cabs are long beds. This is the same long bed that is used for the double cab w/long beds. The mounting points used to mount the sliders are all under the cab.

I'm so confused. Does anyone have pics? Like holding the DCSB sliders up to DCLB frame.

    These are DCLB sliders.
DCSB sliders would be shorter. There are no mounting points for the sliders under the bed (highlighted area). The only mounting points would be under the double cab.

    This is wrong.
Sliders mount under both the cab and the bed.
    Watch this video from @CaliRaisedLed https://youtu.be/JbiEp9R-QlQ .
Watch any slider install video. Mounting points will be under both the cab and the bed.

ACLB sliders are the same length as DCSB sliders.
DCLB sliders are longer and have different bolt patterns.

Easily said DCSB, and AC have same frame. DCLB has its own longer frame. So, like most said DCSB will not bolt up on DCLB.

I’m really intrigued here. @USATRDR8CR, very respectfully, what do you know that we don’t? I’ve always been under the impression that the DCSB and ACLB share the same frame (mounting points) and the DCLB is exclusive to its own mounting point.

again, not trying to stir up any problems but you’ve reiterated the ACLB and DCLB share the same frame, but then you say that by the DCSB and DCLB are the same only difference is intern length. ….at least that’s how I'm understanding your replies.

The ACLB and the DCSB share the same frame (at least mostly, I haven't conducted a detailed inspection).
The DCLB has a longer wheel base. Think about it. How can it have a longer bed than the DCSB and have the same wheel base? The space is at the front of the bed on a LB Tacoma. Look at the space between the cab and the fuel door.
How can it have a longer cab than the ACLB and have the same wheel base? The rear door on the DC is clearly longer than the AC. The space between the cab and the fuel door is the same.

In both the LB and SB the space between the fuel door and the axel is the same.

The 1ish foot difference in bed length is the same as the difference in the DC and AC cab length.

Ok, i believe I’m on the same page as you.

also, I'm exiting this thread…I don’t care anymore. I have my sliders on my DCSB, they bolted up just fine, no drilling/modifications needed..that’s all I care about.

    good luck, OP!
