I'm on Tacoma #4, and before that, had 2 SR5 4wds back in the early '80's. (Plus a Tundra long bed regular cab) I've had regular cabs, access cabs, and double cabs. I've had long beds and short beds.

BY FAR, I like my dcsb the most of any except for a 1984 regular cab/long bed I owned. The "like" was more about the straight axle front end than the bed or cab design. . If I was buying a truck primarily to haul with, it probably wouldn't be a Tacoma. No weight capacity to begin with, and even the long bed is too short for most hauling chores. (I have a 3/4-ton, long bed Dodge parked in the barn for hauling purposes)

I agree, if your primary use is hauling you should skip this category all together. Your average person moves furniture and makes Home Depot runs though. A Tacoma is all you need for that.

I originally went with the short-bed because they didn't have any long-bed, 4x4 stick shifts in the area. Good thing too, the long-bed wouldn't have fit in our garage at the new place.

And those of us in the DCSB's just smile and look back, knowingly, and with great pity towards those less fortunate such as yourself.....;)

I laid down in both beds before deciding what I needed. I went with the dclb because I could lay down in there with the tailgate closed. All I'm saying is its easier to get laid in a long bed.

But the FREQUENCY of getting laid is greater when you drive a short bed.....Just sayin....

I did take notice of the fact that when the County Clerk here in KY refused to issue marriage licenses to gays, there was quite a number of Subaru's in the lot when the Lesbians showed up to protest....

I wish I had known that, might have actually been able to find a parking spot in a Whole Foods lot.

The question for me was never about Longbed/Shortbed, I need a longbed!
The question was always DC/AC, I would have preferred a AC, but needs at the time called for a DC.:taco:
