I'm shopping for a short bed, as I don't use the box much.

Don't do much camping anymore, but do like the $200 Truck Tents on Amazon which you leave your tailgate down, so I'm ok at my super-towering 5'8" (on a good day). Only black bears around here thankfully.

I've never understood what that one means, care to explain? I'm only 30, but sometimes I feel much older.

I don't look at the DCSB as a pickup, but more as a Ford Explorer Sport Trac.

It doesn't really count as real pickup truck in my opinion.

Toyota should offer a package with third row seats since it seams like that is more important to some of these drivers. No offense to anyone that drives a short bed.

1/4 tons aren't really considered a "real truck" anyways. a real truck is a 1 ton with a big ol diesel.

Midsize trucks are actually kind of 1/2 ton trucks now :)

What is the functional difference when you install a toolbox in the back? Does the long bed still have the same amount of usable bed space as a short bed?

It either means Fire...or Burn! Basically like saying “Oh you got him good fucker!” Which is kind of ironic because If you were buying a truck to actually use as a truck, a Tacoma is not it lol.

Had a short bed 2nd gen and the only thing I didn't like about it was the useless bed. DCLB 3rd gen for me.

Shorter wheel base equals better angles while rock climbing.

DCSB and the AC share the same Frames.

Right. The DCSB and AC have an advantage over the DCLB, but not the access cab. I personally wouldn't want to wheel a dirt limo in the tight trails we have here in the PNW. The 2-3rd gen tacomas are big enough already.

If they would’ve still made regular cabs in a 3rd Gen Tacoma, then it would be longbed all day lol as it was the only option and honestly if you’re gonna buy a Tacoma and use it as a truck, your only option is to go longbed

I've own a KC 6ft bed bought new in '99. I can't imagine having a 5ft bed, NO good to me. I've walked up on a couple guys with new Tacos in random parking lots to complement them on their new trucks - and they both said: "My only regret is not getting the 6ft bed" "I found this out on about week two". I guess if you're really not a "truck guy" to begin with and don't use the bed often, a 5ft would be OK. 2018 DCLB coming my way soon baby!! I'm very excited.

That stupid 5ft bed can't even fit my bicycle in the bed appropriately, it was literally useless.
