I wanted a Quicksand TRD OR and a long bed, so my choices were an AC or a DCLB. I was able to find both, the AC was several thousand $ less and since I was writing a check for it, that’s what I went with.

The long bed with a T-Bone bed extender hauls our kayaks great. I had a 5 foot bed previously and it was a bit iffy hauling kayaks with as much of a 12 foot kayak past the tailgate as inside the bed.

Originally I thought of an AC, but as I got into the actual buying process DCLB was the only choice I considered. Mine is a work truck and I will haul people/lumber/ladders/dump runs/etc.

    No regrets.

Nowadays the long bed costs more than SB models. Glad I purchased when I did..

All I'm thinking is parking in your garage would've helped me learn and "feel out" the dimensions of the truck rreeealllly fast lol.

To me the double cab long bed looks funny. The truck is too narrow to be that long. The main reason I got the double cab short bed though, of course, is because I wanted a manual transmission. I like shifting gears. I feel like a cool dude when I’m shifting gears.

The short beds are better for off roading but I wanted the bike to fit with camp crap and close the tailgate.

Wow that’s tight! I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to have my tailgate open and still be able to walk behind it, man you don’t have that concern!

I spend a lot of time on tight trails in the Ozarks so I went with the short bed for maneuverability. I also like the proportions of the truck much more with a short bed.

I built a simple bed platform in the back to sleep on. I'm 5'9" and I fit just fine diagonally. Not enough room for two really, even with my wife who is 5'. When camping in the back, I crave more vertical room to the point that I may buy a high-top hard camper and sell my softopper.

Looks....If you grew up in the era with 99% of pickups being regular cabs then yes, Double cabs just don't look right. It all comes down to the majority of use, either hauling people or truck stuff.

Short beds on these trucks are just weird looking. Looks like someone one has been skipping leg day

I believe the DC Long Bed has the lowest rated payload capacity too so it seems counterproductive.

Compared to all the other available Tacoma's, sorry I should have made that clearer when I made that Post.

    Long beds for me
I like the look of a short bed but for my use that extra little bit of bed makes a lot of difference
Still want haul as much as my old Chevy

pro grill working on the rest.

Have to agree, I find the short bed slightly more appealing with stock suspension, put a lift and bigger tires and I find the long bed slightly more appealing. I enjoy looking at both, but bought the long bed to haul hobby stuff.
