Just spent the day on the end of a paint brush. Without thinking, I added transmission fluid to the power steering system to bring up the level. I'll get the system flushed and correct fluid installed, but do I need a tow to my auto mechanic's shop so as not to damage the system.

    Thanks

I'm no expert, but they're both hydraulic fluids, don't see how short term would hurt anything. Someone with more knowledge on the matter will come along, you might be good with what you have.

Was it Dexron II, III or compatible fluid? If so you're good to go, that's what the power steering system takes.

I've done a mod or two
Should be fine, they aren't picky and it does take ATF
