[Ok, got the state pass. Didn't feel like driving all the way over to mastic for the county pass so didn't get that one but can pick that up anytime......Ready for a beach meet!.....Question though, what can i get away with for the "portable toilet"? bucket and a bag?

You can get away with a bucket. Last year they had park rangers and they only checked for fishing gear and shovel and straps.

Hey guys, relatively new guy here. Looking foward to bring my new to me tacoma on the beach. Wondering what simple mods or items you beach guys can recommend that can save your ass. Already have all the stuff required for the multiple permits, but wondering if there is anything else worth doing or getting.

One of these and a snatch strap and you should be good to go. Make sure you also have a air compressor with you. Sore thumb doesn't have an air station. As long as you air down to 18psi you should be good to go.

Forgot to mention, if you decide to head out to sore thumb make sure you have all your fishing equipment. They had park rangers last year checking and turning people around.

I also keep a jack board in the bed. Just a section of 2x8 to use on the sand in the event a tire goes down. Has never happened but I like to be prepared. Also a requirement on the County Beaches I believe.

Yeah what I did was deflate one tire to 18psi. Closed all the deflators then slowly opened them up. Once I heard air just a little air I knew I was in that ball park and just fine tuned as needed.

Hey now thats pretty smart. Ha I was going to deflate all 4. Is 18psi what you normally air down to?
