Anyone have any use for 3 stock SR5 wheels??? They are just taking up space... Let me know

I would like to state for the record that I strongly oppose New York states regulation on the percentage of light transparency of my automotive glass. :brianr:

Hey guys, my name's Pete and I'm a college student here on Long Island. Been a long time lurker on Tacoma World since my dad first bought his 2015 Tacoma TRD Off Road, and after driving his, I decided I wanted my own. Going to Sore Thumb and Democrat Point with my dad's truck was enough to convince me to sell my car and get my own truck. Got a great deal on a Super White 2015 TRD Pro, something I never thought I would come across. Original owner was a mechanic for Toyota out here on Long Island. Bought her with 42,259 miles on the clock. Maybe I'll see some of you guys out there on the beaches. IMG_4213.jpg

Welcome @Mongoose18 what part of the island you from? I feel like I see this truck frequently at an LA Fitness near my place

june 24th there is supposedly a local TW meet in the Wading River area at another members place, check out the local TW Facebook group page.

I do not have a link for the page as I am not now FB currently, but I know the link is on one of these pages... @CollegeKevin might help here

@uurx thanks! I live in New Hyde Park in Nassau, kinda close to the border of Queens. I go to school at Adelphi in Garden City and work at a UPS Store in Carle Place, right near Roosevelt Field Mall.
Actually I met the guy that I bought it from at a park and ride right across from an LA Fitness right off exit 63, he said he came straight from the gym so it's probably the same truck. I'm not currently in the FB group but I'll check it out!

Real nice truck. Love me some Pro. Have fun on the sand. Make sure you have the necessary gear with you and air down.

I would think it's probably the same truck. This is actually the only white TRD Pro I've ever seen in person. I believe the guy I bought it from said there were only 900 made, not sure how accurate that is though.

Thanks! Gonna need some new tires soon for the beach. I'm not sure if I want to stick with the BFGoodrich All Terrain KO2s or go for some Nitto Terra Grapplers. My dad has the KO2s and they're a great tire for his use. And for now I'm borrowing all my dads gear when he's not using it until I buy all of my own.

I've talked to some of you in the past, need some input today. Back story: I bought a 2006 TRD OR in 2012 that had a spacer lift and assuming an AAL (4 leafs). In 2013, Stickers installed 5100's all around, ditched the spacers, I kept the rusty AAL. I decided last month to follow up on the Rear Spring recall and checked the parts, it was the 4 leaf pack set for the 4 door. I dropped off the truck this morning and service rep called me back and said because of the lift, these leaves won't work and the back end will sit much lower. I am not all that knowledgeable here. Do i forgo the new leafs from Toyota or is there a way to use them with my lift? This is how the back end sits:
    Taco Demo.jpg
Everything is rusty so getting new leafs would be nice. Any thoughts? ... truck is still at the Dealer until i pick it up after work. Thanks

does your truck have the "ski the east" sticker on the back?? if so I think we live around the corner from one another, I see your truck often.

if you already have the 5100s installed back there, and already have an add a leaf on hand, getting the tsb leaf from toyota and putting the add a leaf in there would be your cheapest option I believe (other than finding a killer cheap used price on craigslist)

If toyota is giving you the shaft and telling you they will not give you the new leaf pack, I myself would just buy a dakar pack and slap it in there and call it a day

I do not have that sticker. I live in Huntington. I put my roof racks back on so if you've seen them thats me. Would i just tell them to install the TSB and give me my old leafs and then do it afterwards? The suspension is fine otherwise so this isn't a "need", more like a "well if they are giving them out fo free, then it's fo me" sort of thing. One less rusty part. I did see the ruling in the www.toyotaframesettlement.com case was in favor of owners and they inspected the frame this morning and said once it is passed down from Toyota i will likely qualify.

a new leaf pack will start showing rust with in 5k miles here in these necks of the woods

if you do not NEED it I would maybe say forget about it, if you have no complaints other than surface rust

I highly doubt they would give you new packs and let you keep the old pack, so if the old pack has the add a leaf installed, I am not sure they will pull it out and return it without trying to charge you for it.

maybe see if for a small fee they would install the add a leaf on the new pack.

I will probably just leave it as is, i appreciate the feedback though! Everything is working fine so I am not going to interrupt that.

Anyone there in Long Island near Glenwood Landing heading to Tampa Fl in the next week or two? Found a deal on Ebay for some reloading equipment but it is only local pickup. :( Thought I would take a chance.
