from what ive always thought 4low was only when you were stuck or pulling some one stuck out, never used to to just drive on snow/sand or any off roading

if you get stuck in 4lo, without self recovery gear, you pretty much shit out of luck

you get stuck solo on 4hi, without self recovery gear, you know you at least have 4lo to give it a shot before throwing in the towel and hanging yourself

i crawl on the beach in 4lo just to work out the locker for a couple miles
i also find the ride much smoother while using a trac (although the added heat on the brakes makes me not use this option too often)

4hi & locker would be nice, maybe in the future with some extra parts from marlin :spending:

Well I mean, I won't be cruising around in boost! Shinnecock I find having to use 4Lo is almost mandatory once you get out there. Smith's you can easily do 4Hi unless you go to the end of the day area where it's more fresh sand than travel lanes. Starting out on the sand is a pain in the ass with the new clutch in!

Any other tips for driving in the sand? Already have a snatch strap and tow hitch shackle

yea plus with the tides that we get here the conditions change dramatically season to season if not week to week sometimes

if you air down properly you greatly greatly decrease the chances of getting stuck and airing down after you are stuck doesn't do shit, simply too little too late at that point with some of the soft sand we have here

you can easily burn a quarter tank of gas running back and forth a couple times at smiths point so I tend to like at least half a tank of gas...

I have come across people using gas tanks out there so it does happen...

sun reflector for the windshield is nice also if you plan on being parked for extended periods of time.

maybe an extra shackle or two, chances are you will be pulling someone else who got stuck before your taco hits the SOS button located in the glove box :burnrubber:

    I normally carry:
    • Fire extinguisher
    • Tow straps
    • Jack
    • Jack board
    • 50' air hose
    • Collapsible Shovel
    • Emergency toolkit (10-14mm sockets, hose clamps, JB Weld, Screwdrivers, little bit of primary wire)
    • Coolant
It all fits in a small tote, so whenever I go to the beach, I just toss it in the bed.

here is the list that is posted on the suffolk county parks department page
    http://www.suffolkcountyny.gov/Departments/Parks/ThingsToDo/OuterBeachAccess.aspx
Required Equipment for Outer Beach Off-Roading
    Jack
    Jackboard
    Shovel
    Rope, Chain or Snap Line
    Fire Extinguisher
    Spare Tire
    Tire Gauge
    Flashlight
    First Aid Kit
Portable Air compressor or Air Tank

I usually have an extra couple bottles of water as well, people easily get dehydrated and like everything else as far as emergency gear and recovery gear goes chances are the gear you carry will be for helping someone else who is in need that was not properly prepared...

If anyone here is like me and has been running the trd exhaust with the mudflaps removed, you have probably suffered from some sort of tar & paint from road work and or hard water stains and oxidation from the elements on your exhaust tip.

well give this stuff a try because :itllbuffout:

it has some sort of lift and tire package but i did not peak under her panties. i think people put too many lights on these days.

and funny enough, I feel like it may have had a light bar inside the lower cut out on the factory bumper, the picture cuts it out if i am not mistaken
