Long Island, NY Tacos

Right now I'm running KDMax Pro XT, which is way better than previous edition of KDMax tune I have used for some time last year (I was having some shifting and holding gears issues in slow traffic). I used Nexus* tune for a moment, but like KDMax pro a bit better. Tbh, I think my fuel milage on the VR tune was a bit better than current KDMax and previous Nexus, like 1 to 2 mpg respectively.




*I'm still waiting for them to send me their updated YotaWerx/Nexus Blackhawk tune, so I could check and compare (they had some issues to work out after the "merger").

 

I had it tuned by someone as I’m not too knowledgeable with computer stuff. I’d be curious to know how you got your truck tuned and if you’d help me find a place to get mine sorted out.

 

I’ll look and ask around a bit more but it is odd. It’s definitely driveable but lacking in a lot of areas.

With those issues, if battery disconnect will not work out, you'll have to contact your tuner to figure things out. Sorry

 

What does it take to do the KDMax Pro tune on your own?

 

Eh..
One has to buy a cable and a program from VFtune (former OVTune), complete the registration, and then purchase and install tune from KDMax. It sounds easy, a bit expensive though.

One issue with that setup is, you're allowed to work on only one vehicle. Years ago was different, could have worked on multiple vehicles, now only Pro users (like tuners) can do that.

 

Might look into this.

Might help what part of the island...but for kinda sorta middle of the road, I've use TLC in South Farmingdale (just south of Republic Airport) in the past. A little pricey but they seemed to know what they were doing.

Hey guys, any input on the best place to get tires balanced out? I got my tires from my usual guy but I feel like they're still a bit off balance (around 75MPH or so) and wanted to get a second opinion.
