I like clean air to breathe. I want clean air for my daughter to breathe.

With that said, I installed my tank. I’m happy with it. I have no burping issues as others have had in the past.

Ohh I agree with the clean air part for sure but extended fuel tanks don’t pollute any more than a regular one does

I agree. A properly designed tank will function the same as factory. However, the testing/vetting process for the LRA tank hasn’t happened yet for the California BAR. Until that happens, and it passes their threshold testing, it will be non smog compliant.

I have been told that some are having issues with overfilling. Has anyone else heard of this?

Who told you this? I have read, here on this forum, that someone was having difficulties with “burping” as they filled to full. I have not. But I only am two tank full fills into ownership.

I do, as have some others who have installed these in the past. I've been communicating with Cruiser Brothers about the issue and there are a few ideas being kicked around on how it might be able to be overcome. It's odd that it doesn't get everybody but I know all my lines were good since I pulled the bed to do the whole install (the kinked line to the charcoal canister was previously suspect for others).

For now I'm just filling up manually based on how much my scangauge says I've used since the last fill. Works so far and for me at least is a worthwhile tradeoff for the range. I hope to get a more permanent solution sometime but this works for now.

I didn’t pull my bed for the install(have vagabond Drifter plus too many other stuffs) and I could immediately tell the charcoal canister line supplied was far too long. It was trimmed many times to find the correct length.
This tank install is not for the impatient.

What kind of modifications did you have to make to make this compatible with your double cab long bed?

Agreed on the install part, I pulled all my drawers, fridge, topper and bed to get to it from the top as I have the DCLB and was not certain going into it just what would need to be dealt with when putting it in. True about the line length, I hacked most of it off - definitely not kinked though so I'm at a loss right now why it burps when shutting off

Much less than expected, it was just extending the front mount to the crossmember which is further forward on the DCLB vs the DCSB. I provided all my measurements and pictures to Cruiser Brothers and I believe they'll be supporting the DCLB going forward with a bracket similar to what I made.

Best mod on this truck so far! It’s a heavier setup over my last campershell, but far superior in function and design.

Btw, I’m surprised you just went straight hose clamp instead of cutting out the factory fittings from the lines and inserting them into the new hoses supplied. I think I’ve got a pic of what I did. I know it’s seems unnecessary to some, but I like the security of the factory fittings clipping into their intended hoses. In the pic I uploaded it doesn’t show the charcoal canister line with its fitting terminated because I was still in process of finding the correct length.C1882301-D3AB-489E-8DA5-C5D1CF4D17FD.jpg

Also, we have special pump handles here in California for vapor release. Part of our smog/BAR requirements. Maybe that’s why I have no burping issues?

I get what you mean. I don’t live there and I’m not sure on the rules for that place for certain things. I do know the firearm rules are awful!!
