That's good to hear, the previous plastic one was hit or miss for me, worked maybe 1/3 fillups if I kept the pump on the slowest setting. Anymore I just fillup based on what the scangauge says I've burned and then manually top it off until I here it change sound when I backs up to the neck. A pain but the added range is still worth it.

Before my camper was installed I was able to get 500 miles on a tank on a long freeway drive but usually 450 at low light. Now with the camper, it's 375-400 and I'm looking for gas. Keep in mind that when the low fuel light comes on, there's about 8 gallons left in the tank, I beleive.

I've been running a tank and testing some options with them for a while now. The setup I currently have is the current batch of valves and so far so good. I fill up like the like the old days, I just can't top off like before or else the burp is back. Aus is definitely aware of what's going on and testing out solutions. What I have now is what is currently being shipped out.

Yeah, the top off is just filling the filler neck in my case. Tank is totally full.

Yeah, when my valve was working, it was flawless if you just let the pump click off on its own. Putting more in on top is at your own peril!

I'm not pulling the bed unless it's a solid fix... Never got the repalcement valve from them to try it though. Gotta try calling at some point I guess. Too much other shit going on and at this point I fill up the truck every other month with the amount I drive it anymore.

Mine only over fills if I try to top it off.

I did somehow lose the metal flapper that you see when you remove the gas cap. I can only imagine it went down the filler neck, and so far hasn’t caused any problems. I was afraid it would get caught on the LRA flapper valve and keep me from being able to fill up, but that hasn’t been the case (yet..)

If anyone gets a chance, can you touch a magnet to yours and see if it sticks? Maybe I could try dropping a magnet on a string down the filler neck and see if I can get it out. If it successfully made it past the LRA flapper valve, then I guess I don’t have anything to worry about.

I never ended up purchasing it. Been dealing with towing and filling up every 160-180 miles... In the racing off season I fill my truck up once every 2 months, so haven't decided it's worth it yet considering it still overflows with the new designed valve. Will definitely wait until that is resolved or buy a Tundra. LOL

That's what I'll most likely end up doing. Especially since the black looks like stock for inspection time.
The giant aluminized tank kinda stands out.

The build quality is really good. All the weld seams are very clean. The stock paint is pretty good quality but after 7k miles in about 6 months after install there were a few nicks and chips. Very seldom surface rust and these were around the bolts. The grey does stick out like quite a bit. I wanted added protection that I can continue to re-paint in a jiffy. It was a pretty easy project.

Have any Californians installed this yet and been able to pass smog testing? Or tried and got failed? This is a mod I’d love to do if there was a way to get away with it in PRK.
