Anyone look into getting a HydraMat from Holley? Very tempting. I’ve had issues with gas sloshing (only twice in the past year) when either start up with a low-ish tank on very steep uphill or off-roading on bumpy steep hill. Felt as if it wanted to shut off.

Just email Ward. They fit the same. The only difference is an elongated piece of flat bar...

It has been discussed many times. As well as photos have been provided.

Sub'd. I haven't been spending much money on the truck recently, but I'd pay to not have to fill up every couple hundred miles.

Started to go through the thread but got bogged down. After your statement that you didn't gain much I'm not so sure it's worth the investment. Is your fuel gauge still accurate? Saw something about the low fuel light being off a bit.

When the orange light comes on I know I have 8 gallons of fuel remaining.

After this last trip in the desert and the data logging of a 1900 mile trip, I’ll state that the fuel tank is still one of my top favorite mods I’ve done to my truck. The 35’s changed my fuel mileage. But it also changed my driving habits. Which in turn put a positive spin in the fuel mileage department compared to before.

OK. But what about the fuel gauge? Fairly accurate, or off completely? Shouldn't wait until 8 gallons left before a fill up. At least, that's my program.

I guess I’m not following. The fuel gauge works as normal until you hit the orange light. The only difference is factory you have 1.8 gallons(if I remember correctly) vs 8 gallons of fuel when the little orange Egypt light comes on.

I have an access cab and it bolted right in. No mods at all. DCLB is different I think, but they are taking notes on what models and years work without modifications.

I haven’t read through the thread yet, is there modification required? DCLB is what I need.

mines been a bit different. May gauge shows full for about 150ish miles before the needle moves and then it’s like stock. I always fill up at a quarter tank because the pump hits the credit limit if it’s lower. It’s around 19ish gallons to fill up from a quarter tank on the gauge.

Have you been able to pass a smog check in CA with the Long Range tank?

Oddball question, but is anyone running this tank with SUA? With the increase in uptravel that comes with relocating the spring, it allows the axle to travel a few inches higher. I wonder if there would be clearance issues, since the tank acquires space above the drive shaft.

The clearance concern would not be with the axle but with the leaf spring on the drivers side. There’s not much breathing room there. As long as the SUA setup does not move the axle forward there should not be an issue with clearing it.

Hmm, I see. It shouldn't be moving the axle forward at all. I still have to order the spring, but I plan on going with a Deaver setup, maybe custom rate. Most of the springs they make for SUA applications are 61 1/2" long, which once the spring is in compression should fan out to be longer. So if anything, I think the axle would be pushed back at bump. But that's all theoretical geometry, it still has to bump off the same location.
