You guys who get these are going to love the extra fuel capacity.

I have an aux tank in my 1st gen with about 36 gallons total capacity between both tanks. Never having range anxiety and never dealing with cans while in remote locations is wonderful

Good luck with the group buy.

I’d still carry two Jerry cans in the truck at all times. Even having the extra range of the tanks, just for back up. I’ve been out and in too many spots where I barely made it back and had three extra Jerry cans with me. It was not fun coasting into a gas station on fumes. Thankfully it was mostly down hill.

Wish this company would do a DCLB version of this tank.

it is the same tank, one just needs to figure out adaptors to mount the tank.

Yup, I ran out of gas last year a mile from the gas station and I have a 550 mile highway range, 400 mile off road range.
You still red to plan...just not as much.

I look at it as more of an emergency use.

It’ll work for that as well.

Ive been going to Baja every year for the past few years. It’s super useful to carry a lot of fuel in places like that.

Yup, come to the CDN north and go off-roading on some of the trails. With a larger tank, you can string a lot of trails together.

TACOMA TANK KIT UPGRADE PROGRAM & NEW MODEL TANK
As US agents for Long Range Automotive (LRA) we offer over 60 different tank kits for Toyotas, Jeeps and Land Rovers - among others. We have known and done business with LRA for years and formalized this exclusive relationship in late 2017.

During 2018 we have sold several hundred tanks here with uniformly good results. The one exception was a tendency for the tank to "burp" back gas, fill slowly and vent poorly. When we found out about it, we stopped selling the tank and investigated - learning too late that there was a history of this behavior for many/most owners.

We, in conjunction with LRA, undertook a development program to learn what the problem was and to correct the deficiency in the product. Over a period of months, a new version of the tank was developed, along with a "fix-it kit" - both adding a spring-loaded Inlet Control Valve (ICV).

    Two things to announce:

    UPGRADE PROGRAM
We are offering the fix-it kit to owners of LRA tanks for installation. We will ship the kit free of charge to owners (with proof of purchase). Installation will take a shop or owner approximately two hours. Upon installation, we will reimburse the owner with a $200 payment with photo documentation of the installation. If you own a Tacoma with LRA tank, please provide your name, address and phone number along with date and proof of purchase, along with a description of your experience with the tank. Send to info@cruiserbrothers.com and we will contact you.

    NEW KIT ON SALE
The new kit is now available for sale and to relaunch this 33 gallon replacement tank, it is available at $200 off the retail price of $1,595 ($1,395 plus shipping) on orders placed through January 4th.

If you would like a quote to purchase and ship a tank, please go to this web page, then scroll down to select the Tacoma tank #TTACDCR and "Request A Quote" - we will respond by email with a total price with shipping/handling.

    Well, thank you. Some details:
    1. I am relatively old and stubborn. Was told that "you can't sell those here" and "that tank won't work" so I had some motivation
    2. Speaking of which, my partner has a stellar reputation in the Land Cruiser community as owner of a leading LC shop - a 25 year unblemished reputation to protect
    3. LRA has a 30 year unblemished reputation
    4. I have no reputation to protect but I really hate bad customer service
    5. We are in the tank business - tanks that work
    6. As a result, we really need you guys to be happy

We have seen several installed using large adapter plates but LRA wants to design new mount that connects 90 degrees to the left side frame rail. Early 2019 ETA (like March or so)

Oh tell me more, how easy of an install is this? I,ve dropped a few tanks on vehicles, could one do this in an afternoon with a friend or to and a couple of lifts?
