    yes, I have done the mods
    I just signed. I'm desperate for an aux fuel tank in my spare tire cavity under the bed. It's totally wasted space, and I want more fuel with me than two jerry cans on the bumper. I want *no* jerry cans on the bumper and 18+ gallons nestled comfy between the frame rails!

    With the similarities between the 2nd and 3rd gens, the tank they manufacture could probably be used on 3rd gens, too. They could just have a slightly different install kit to tap in to the filler neck.
