Whaaaaaat!? I just poke n hope... haha jk. Seriously though I've never hit my target yet soooo.... a 2.5gal bucket is a small target at 1500yd with a budget build speaking of which I had my 6.5x55 out last night testing some loads and was able to get 2950FPS out of it but I was getting extractor marks. Gotta load some more up and test my 2850FPS load for accuracy.

I got to shoot 1500 yards last week. Conditions weren't great. We had lot of different wind directions but still hit 2/5.

Nice! Im currently building me a long range 308. Learning alot about long distance shooting. 1500 yards is very impressive! Do you mind me asking what is your rifle setup?

Here is my rig, Its a Tikka T3 CTR rebarreled to 6.5 Creedmoor. Scope is a Sig Sauer Tango 6 3-18x

Trigger is about 1.5lbs and Ive ran it at 750 max so far.

Somewhat considered selling it this year since I havent really got to go out to +300 yards much more.

It's a Ruger Precision in 6.5 Creedmoor with a Vortex Viper PST. I have only had it about 2 months but it is fun to shoot and very accurate for what I have invested.

Very nice! Do you do like the Viper PST? I was thinking about getting that scope but I might wait for the Gen ll to come out. MidwayUSA said they should have them in stock towards the end of April. Hoping I can get one

I like mine. It's good glass for the money and I haven't had any issues with clarity. I really wanted a Gen 2 but the wait would have killed me.

They said they improved the glass but since no one has any kinda hard to compare it to the first Gen. Which Magnification did you get and focal plane choice if you dont mind me asking?

I got the 6-24x50 in first focal plane. I like the first focal plane so I don't have to be on a certain magnification for the reticle to be used. I find myself shooting on about 12 power instead of 24 a lot of the time. I read a review the other day, I can't remember the source, but they said the difference in the glass was very noticable on the Gen 2.

Wow I was actually looking into that exact scope and power before deciding on the Gen ll. All my scopes have been second focal plane so this time I will go with first. When you have it at the 6 power, is it really hard to see the reticle? Ive read some people have hard time seeing the reticle on its minimum magnification.

The reticle is very fine on 6x but not difficult for me to see. And at 24x I don't think it is too large. It's a good balance.

Great thanks for the info! Its been so hard to decide on a scope. I plan on getting the 5-25x50 PST in FFP. Now my last choice is to decide rather to get a mildot or MOA. I know MOA is easier but im doing alot of research on Mil and it seems to have alot more benefits than MOA.

If you have a illuminated reticle, on the lower powers you can turn it on and it basically becomes a duplex reticle depending on how you focus it.

    and yes go mill dot.

Yes. I use the PRS when I have a lot of walking to do. I use a manfrotto with a pig saddle when I'm more static.

We just got an aluminum Manfrotto to mount a spotting scope, that is a heavy beast. The pig is solid I've used one before.
