Lol! No. Caught him in the act!

I tried like 6 different brands/grains and the CCI .17 gr Varmint rounds outpeformed them all in my gun. I would’ve thought the Hornady would have been better since they designed it. But apparently in my CZ the CCI’s were the perfect combo. The 20 gr CCi’s were very comparable but super hard to find. I stocked up on the .17 gr though!

I stock up on them also but a little info on the 17 HMR. CCI is the only maker of all 17 HMR no matter what the name is on the box. They are contracted by Hornaday and are the exclusive producer of them mostly because there is only a handful of rimfire machine in the world anyway. Supposedly of all the names, the hornadays are contracted to be the tightest tolerance then CCI, Winchester so on and so forth being a looser tolerance As you go down the list.

I had found my horndays for $9.99 a box and bought like 2000 rounds. The look on the sales person’s face was quite funny

I actually did know that. That’s y I was so confused when they didn’t perform the same. I assure u though, the CCI’s definitely performed better. All shots were in controlled conditions and the same set up. Weird, but true.

I bought about 15 boxes (from the only place that had them in stock) and I have kept them for the past 4-5 years. I wish I had paid 9.99!!!

I was helpin settle an estate, so as a thank you for helping with the firearms which the executor had no idea what to do with, I was given a number of the long guns and transferred a couple hand guns.

Very nice. Mine is modded. 400 is easy, but dont have a range longer than that local. But, I own land adjacent to BLM land with a good long stretch across the road from my driveway. Eventually, Ill go and see what she can really do.

Built to shoot, not be pretty. But I did strip/smooth/polish/oil the original stock to be absolutely beautiful and sold it to someone that wanted a show rifle.

As long as you know what yer dial ups need to be that big 762/54 will get there. The steel plate we were shootin at was 48” dia, with iron sights that joker looks like a clay bird on the 200yd berm.

The biggest change by far was the Timney trigger! I ended up selling it for $750

The Timney is very nice. The stock is nice for the recoil. Which is better? Its a toss up.
I got a few thousand rounds of surplus ammo before became $$$.
With the price of surplus going up (when you can find it) and the price of the base rifles going through the roof, when I run out of ammo I will put a bull barrel on it and start getting good ammo.

Not much of a long range shooter, but this is what I have should I ever shoot long range. Savage Hog Hunter in .308.
