    LOL,
That is a Ruger precision rifle, obviously brand-new for Ruger. I like the fact that the energy control is in line with the bullet like in AR platform so there is zero muzzle flip, The 6.5 Creedmore round goes out 1600 yards before going transonic and will reach out to 2000 yards
It hits with devastating authority. the BC on the round is 610
For a short action round, that is considered a sky high Bc

Sweet! That's my next gun. I can get them super cheap. Just need to quit being a tight ass and put in the order.

I put my order in, in January and in June they called me. I was one of the lucky ones to get the second-generation for the first generation place $979.
I zeroed in on my steel plates at 200 yards and it is a night and day difference between how my 308's hit those steel plates and how the 6.5 hits the plates

Glad I found this thread. I'll see if I have any pics of my Remington 700 .300wm. Getting a 6.5 creed next also. :)

Yes, the 300 WinMag is also awesome, but they do carry Quite a thump with them. The Ruger weight finished in at just under 14 pounds, I had my wife on it on day one!

I'm lucky enough to get them straight from Ruger with only a week or two wait. And about a couple hundred cheaper too.

I own a 6.5x284 and love it. Curious how the creedmoor will compare. Only down side to the Precision is the weight. I want to hunt with it and 10.2 lbs with no scope is damn heavy to lug around the mountains!

For the people that are new to long-range shooting, transonic in layman's terms is when the sonic shockwave that is created when your bullet leaves the barrel, catches back up with the bullet and slams into the back of it, causing it to shutter. , this is asensually the distance that that round has the accurate ability to go. It can go be on that but the consistent accuracy starts to leave the situation. The .308 round goes transonic around 1100 ft./s and the 6.5 can go out to 1600 before it goes transonic.so on and so forth

That's a damn good round to compare it to, yes the Ruger does weigh a lot to luge around in the woods. I have shot it standing up, but have used a tree and a stick

You'll probably find a little better numbers out of your 6.5Ă—284 because I have to assume you using a 28 inch barrel. That's what the Ruger should have been but why they made it 24, I'm not quite sure .

The 6.5-284 will have less wind drift, which is what causes most misses at long range. Problem is, it has a much shorter barrel life. That may or may not be an issue. Many people will never shoot a barrel out anyway, regardless of chambering. I've shot out a few, but I find these days with 7 or 8 rifles to spread my shooting out on, I will probably not shoot out many more. If I had a good 6.5-284 and was not shooting high volume, I wouldn't think of going to the creedmoor.

If you're only going to have one rifle and shoot a lot, the creedmoor is probably the better option, unless you don't mind rebarreling.

The 284 is my one and only big game rifle but even then I doubt I'll ever burn out a barrel. My load development is done and I get my fun trigger time in with my 22.250 or my M4.

Thank you for the tips on the Creedmoor. I appreciate it.

Ok should've known that was a ruger. BC .610? I'm guessing that's G1. Sierra 142gr match is BC is .626 Berger 140gr G1: .618 G7.317 and hornady ELD-x 143gr: G1:.625 G7.315 I havnt shot the hornadys yet waiting on my trigger from SSS to come in, although after waiting 4 months and reading some shit idk when I'm gonna get it. So I may just get a timney for it. Here is a sick vid of someone doing the 1 mile milk jug challenge with a 6.5 swede which is what I'm building. Really wish he'd give an idea on how he's getting that speed. Even just the powder. I can only get to 2850 outa my swede. http://youtu.be/It-P1FKTzv0 I tried a 1500yd milk jug challenge with my .50, but couldn't do it. Soooo dam close and my bullets were BC 1.050.

Yes, that is using G1. The 610 is at 1000 ft, Using Hornaday 140 ELD's. Match. I'm getting ready to give the 143's a wizz and see how they group compared to the Sierra's.

I'm about to purchase a project gun for long range shooting. I've shot my entire life but nothing further than 100-150yds. I have some friends who have been shooting long range (500-700 yds) for a few yrs now and I'm really wanting to get into it. I was dead set on the 308 (because that's what they all shoot) but I was talking to my boss about it and he starts telling me about his experience with the 308. He has a savage 308, savage 338 laupa, Remington 7mm mag, Remington 300 WM, and Remington 300 UM. He shoots out to 1500 yds and was telling me as a beginner he would recommend the 7mm mag. This guys the real deal. I've talked to guys he shot with and they all say he knows his stuff. I try to buy 1 gun a yr and like I said this will be a project gun so I want to start off on the right foot. Tacoma World has always been my go to and you guys have never disappointed me. Feed back please

Me personally, for the dollar bills involved and the return on those dollar bills. I went with a Ruger Percision rifle is 6.5 Creedmore and I shoot out to 1600 just like they advertise. And because it is short action the recoil is nothing like any of the magnums. Don't get me wrong they're great also. But my 6.5 is as cheap to buy as my 20-250 are and their match grade so I don't need to reload, the Hornaday ELD's shoot just as good as are custom loads. Only my opinion and two cents
