Such a great scope. Wish I could use it for hunting but I’m not hauling that up and down hills on top of all the other shit I’m already carrying, hahaha.

Between the scope and the Atlas bipod, it's a workout. May swap to a Harris I have laying around if I needed to move around with it. For now it just shuttles between the truck and the range line, so it's not such a big deal.

Yep. Shaving weight for hunting comes down to what’s most important to you personally. I went with a Harris bipod and the razor hd lh scope for my hunting rifle simply to save a little bit on the rifle itself. Certainly helped when packing out a deer last fall. That, or it’s all mental and a pound and a half isn’t that much, lol.

Except being out west, there's no treestand hunting, so stalking for miles across ridgelines makes those pounds feel like more than they are.

I've got lighter guns that I would reach for if I was gonna be walking around all day. A Savage .308 if I wanna go a little longer, or an old sporterized 8mm Mauser that is an absolute sledgehammer inside of 200 yards. I've taken 3 whitetails with it and they have taken a cumulative 2 steps after they got tagged.

I mean, I'd hope they're not walking away AFTER you put the tag on them...

I agree though, ounces equal pounds. Pounds equal pain.

Unused to hump some weight, back in my day and all that, but now I’m broke af.

You never feel the recoil when engaging a deer/elk/chupacabara/etc.

That said. I’ve been enamored with the new Savage 110 High Country in .280ai.

I agree with you 99%. Although I shot a deer when I was a kid with some Weatherby round and I'm pretty sure I still feel it in my molars on cold mornings.

Sorry for the confusion. Just didn't want it laying on a shelf or on the floor of the safe as it would get in the way when I take things in and out.

Much like samurai storing their swords upright with handle down, storing guns upright prevents pooling of moisture from condensation and contaminants in the bore. If you over oiled the bore, it allows excess to drain out as well. Quite important on your precision rifles that may go months/years before you send a cleaning kit down the pipe.

Truth be told, I ditched my safe for a couple surplus arms room cabinets. Allows for better airflow to the weapons. Humidity is maintained in the house and room is quite secure.

She’s the one that gave me my own room in the new house. Even helped me set the room up. :)

Between her acceptance of guns/reloading, buying me a Traeger, and paying for the Habitat with her bonus, I’d tend to agree.
