    Nice! My house is too small to get any indoor practice, but I thought about building and buying some items and storing at the new range,,, the old range was a bunch of FUDDS and ran off PRS type shooters.

    Happy with it? I assume so if it's your goto for open PRS. Would you have gone another way given the option to do your build again?

    All the 6BR based cartridges are probably easier to source and better for getting into this type of sport in my experience. Brass is not the most common thing to come upon for the GT. You have to modify your rig and or magazines to get to feed reliably.

    All 243’s have shit for barrel life.

    I haven’t seen the 6GT do anything the BR can’t do in practice. I decided to try a few barrels to push it to 3000fps while keeping Br recoil. This is way over pressure, and I wouldn’t attempt unless you know what you’re doing. It’s just what people do to stay competitive.

    Cleaning some rifles this morning and noticed the action screws were loose on my savage elite precision so figured I'd pull the stock to clean it a bit better. Looking at the stock/action it is clear to me- they don't mate well. (See pics)
    Is this something I should glass bed or is this typical of v bed chassis systems? I'm fairly new to precision outside of the hunting world so I don't even know what a v bedding system looks like in person. There is no obvious "V" on this chassis just looks to me to be a poor fit and in need of a bedding job.

    Anytime the action screws come out it’s 100% due to improper torque. I wouldn’t be surprised if those screw are slightly bent.

    Just look at getting some Fix It Sticks (kind of like torque wrench) or worst case get that garbage wheeler torque driver and torque to manufacture specs. Bonus tip, you can play with torque settings in 2 in lb increments and look for a “node” in the rifles accuracy.

    Here is the V bed on your chassis. This corner angle is the V. I wouldn’t worry about. If you’re serious, I would ask a smith that you trust to blue print the rifle before bedding it.

    That is the exact fix it sticks set I have. I'll add the blue dab of loctite though and brush up on the snipershide forum you linked. I had it torqued down to spec but I guess the recoil of the 338lm can be a bit jarring. I'll give the 2in lb thing a try next time I'm out with her.

    My guess is that a ton of people bought a can right around mid-January and swamped the system. Not to mention I am betting their non-e-file throughput was reduced as they beta tested the E-File system before launch.
