Hello all, glad to finally post and be apart of the forum. I have a 16 SR5 access cab and it's my daily work truck. around 75k miles, and time for suspension upgrade.
Looking forward to asking a lot of questions I may not have been able to find answers to yet. Would appreciate if you guys could point me to the right thread(s).

Welcome to the best Tacoma forum out there!

you have a lot of choices when it comes to new suspension. Most people will tell you to reach out to @HeadStrong Off-Road tell Marie what you do with your truck and give em your cc number then wait for the box to be delivered. She/they are well know here for products, support and customer service. Can’t go wrong there.

Search around for the the different name brand lifts and see what you like most, depending on your budget.

Thank you guys for the responses.
I've contacted Marie and emailed back n forth a few times.
I'm looking at the bilstein setup all around w dakar leaf pack. the specific area i need help with is choosing either medium or heavy duty.
I should first explain that I have equipment out back thats around 200/250lbs constant, but may run up to 400lbs any given day, on top of the 250lb shell. Medium gives me 2" at 0lbs and heavy 2" at 600lbs load. I'm not necessarily looking for a 2" lift in the rear, more so trying to level out front/rear. I know the springs will settle in, and therefore also do not know witch coils to run up front.
Currently running 265/70/16, and front end skid plate touches down on even mediocre dips/bumps.

End goal is achieving a decent 1-1.5" lift both front/rear. Exclusively want bilstein shocks.

My apologies if I'm making this harder on myself than it has to be. Hope someone has come across a member with my particular situation. Again thank you guys for reaching out.

Hey guys took me a while to get everything set up w time off work. I got a quote from RPM garage that I couldnt refuse. I appreciate all of your efforts to help me out. Hope you don't mind if I pick your brain before I go ahead w my install.

I'm going with the bilstein 5100 w heavy duty dakars. NOTE I'm looking for a leveled front/rear (with varying amount of weight in back, + or - half inch either way is cool w me). Here aremy questions/concerns:

    • 250lb shell and another 200 - 300 lbs of tools, equipment at any given time... are the extended length rear shocks appropriate for this amount of weight (travel issues?) AND regarding up travel, bottoming out, and bump stop issues? I drive city/hwy 98% go camping twice a year.
    • Or ditch the above and go with 5160s?
    • Front coils, 884 or 885 or 6112s. Im never going to add any weight up front. Looking for a height of 1.75" to 2.25" lift up front.
    • UCAs - I've read 89 threads, and am more confused now than when I started... im riding on 265/70/16s and will eventually go up to 265/75/16s.
I contacted Marie at headstrong and got info from her that I later also saw on the threads. She's awesome, but you guy def look like you know from experience. I really appreciate your help and knowledge
