This may already been said but I'm sure part of it has to do with all the technology they put in cars now.

I mean, I listed my only other two options and then followed up with "I can sell my truck right now and get damn near close to what I paid for it."

My Tacoma so far as has been the best vehicle I've ever owned, and my third new vehicle. My first was a Honda Fit that was in the dealer 3 times within a year for little quality related issues and it had insane rattles. My second was a Ford Mustang that only went in twice; once for gear oil change per TSB in cold climates and once for broken rear sway bar links(those are my fault ;)). The Tacoma hasn't been in once. I've had no problems with it and am starting to think even the discounted extended factory warranty I purchased was a waste. I get an occasional dash rattle in cold weather but it goes away once it's warmed up.

If you want to drive a real piece of shit go buy any Silverado made since 2007. GM pretty much built the 1500's to be disposable soccer mom mobiles.

I'm as tight as a 55 gallon drum full of warm water. You'll have to stir it around to touch the sides! o_O

Toyota is just an assembler. Most parts made by same manufacturer. Pretty much parts are YMMV these days. For everyone who has part failure another guys goes 300K miles without changing transmission fluid or spark plugs.

Whoa there buddy!! You're a little behind on the current affairs. We're well past the subject of toyotas superior quality. We've moved on to fist dildos, rubber priest, and different uses for bananas!!!
