    it is..just came out. they only do 1 magazine a year for whatever reasons, its a pretty entertaining mag. trucks,boobies and pranks make it pretty hard to go wrong

    what do you guys think about this? 4inch 500 over 16inch 650 10inch coilover.

    DSM steered me away from a 6 inch tender spring.

    3" stands for the diameter of the coil so 3" would fit a 2.5 shock etc

    There is no "standard" spring. It's whatever you order
    3 = inside diameter of coil
    18 = 18" spring
    500 = 500 ft/lb spring rate

    Depends on what lower spring retainer you're using. I have a tapered retainer to clear the 4x4 axles so I'm using a 16" spring. Nelson on the other hand has the flat retainer and is using 18" coils.

    my 8s had 18s with a flat retainer. when i got the tapered retainer my springs wouldnt fit on without compressing the spring. so 16 with the taperd.

    yup. 16" came with my shocks originally. when i dropped spring rate i got new lower retainers and 18" springs

    x2 I ran a 18" 700lb spring with my 8s.

    Now im running the same spring with a 6" 500lb over it on my 12s

    idk they just didnt fit unless there was preload on them haha

    you have to take into account the block height of the springs and how much travel your shock has. If you're running a 16" 500lb spring and need to crank it a bunch, the spring will bottom out before your shocks. if you run a 18" 500lb spring it will have more travel, so you have more wiggle room with preload

    rod spacers are there to push the spring assembly higher up on the shock to clear axles and shit. It's a cheap alternative to getting longer rod ends which push up the entire shock assembly as opposed to just the spring assembly.

    Different size rod ends do not effect what length springs you can run. Rod spacers do.

    Think of longer rod ends as a spacer lift that goes on the bottom of the shock.
