    caged, camburg long travel, 50t leafpack (soon to be installed) light rack over cab, 5pt harnesses etc
    can someone explain the advantage of going with those?

    are the stock ones prone to fucking up?
    i dont know a thing about bearings.

    In terms of the front, I'm pretty sure a custom spindle would have to be made. I don't think they'll just bolt in.

    In terms of the rear, the hubs are used on custom axles to build a full floater. Rather than the weight of the truck resting on both the axles and the housing (semi-float), a full float lets all of the weight of the truck rest on the housing. The axles are only responsible for spinning the wheels. Less bent axles, less broken parts...but more money.

    If you're going to make a custom spindle, use a 80's style bolt on snout from the solid axles, screw unit bearings! I have the original bearings on my front end, over 20 years old and 200,000 miles, still good!

    Yeah, I love them. My dad has a FJ and is most likely going sell his sports car and pick up a FJ45 with some of the cash. We went to a big FJ/Toyota event last week and tons of them were there. We did a nice expo run with them and camping. I had a great time. So I'm thinking I'm going to finish the truck and then sell it and buy a 80 and mod it with the cash. Then hopefully by this time next year I can buy a car as a DD. I have enough friends with desert trucks that I can ride in if I get the itch to go out.

    they are so damn bomb proof from the factory, 10.5" ring gear, full floater axles, 4 link front and rear, front a rear lockers and huge after market support. You can find them for so cheap too and those motors are known to go 300k
