All race shocks can shift around on the heims just sounds like yours do it a lot more than most. Probably worn out heims.

Finally took the truck out for a bit yesterday. My steering wheel was 45 degrees off to the left and now its straight :) but I now have a clicking noise at low speeds when coming to stops.

The way the truck is setup I I have no adjustability left in my tie rods because I am not using the coilovers for lift and have the tie rod extenders on. Think I can throw those on a lathe and mill them down 1/2" so I can go back to being able to adjust my toe set? Will I have to clean up the interior threading?

I am also thinking of picking up a set of used smoothies 16" just to get the rear all mocked up, installed and running then save up for some bypasses. Think thats a fair idea? It seems that used smoothies with resi are a lot easier to come by and then I can sell them quickly when I am ready for bypass.

Do I need to take anything into account for a bed-cage besides the size of the hole in the bed for the shock to do through?

Spring rate? They seem a bit worn for $600.

If they are worn you might want to rebuild them as well. I know for my king bypasses it was about $60 in seals/oil and thats with a hookup from a guy at king. (I'm not sure how much the parts vary from bypasses/coilovers.)

I'm sure you can find someone on DR to rebuild them for 50-100 bucks. I put out a search thread at the time and luckily one of King's employees offered to drive to my place and rebuild them for free after work.

FWIW King wanted $150 per shock to rebuild them, but that also includes alot more thorough inspection of the shock tubes and making sure nothing is bent/tweaked because if it is, he was telling me, they will need a rebuild very often and leak.

remove the coils, loosen set screw unthread the body of the shock body. there is a nut on the rod holding the whole assembly together, remove that then you can remove all the shims. remove the IFP from the resi and change the seal.

put everything back together. I can PM you instructions I got from Fox if youd like

F it, PM'd it over Jordan

edit: bypasses are a little different. iirc you need to open the bypass tubes all the way and continue on like normal. i have only done smoothies/coil-over shocks

Camburg LT, spindles and their valved Fox coilovers with 500lb springs. I want to add compression to the set-up. Should I start with a stiffer spring rate and see what happens or should I mess with the valving first?

As long as the springs hold your truck up the the correct ride height without having to put a bunch of pre-load you would always use the shocks to stiffen the suspension

from initial install I lost a lot of lift, I would say 1"-1.5" from springs settling. I adjusted them up and after yesterday wheeling a little bit they seemed to go down a little more. Guess I will load up the pre-load a little bit more.

If they are specifically valved for Camburg from Fox...do I get a hold of Camburg, Fox or would someone like DSMS know what the valving currently is so I dont have to tear apart to figure it out?
