Yup. Steve's been putting out some wicked stuff lately. Carlo's Cummins & Cinemax's Duramax both are super intense.

i do like most of steves work but carlos's dodge is going to be the heaviest pile of steel ever. the cage is 2" .188 wall and way way over kill...just look at the floor tubes and how unnecessary they are...a better design would be just as strong and hundreds of pounds lighter. seems like he failed on the design so just kept throwing tubes at it

This is true. Athough I look at from the "overkill" perspective. That truck weighs a 4ton (approximately) already, so it's going to require more tubes & thicker tubes then usually required. But yes you're correct in saying that there are some unnesscary tubes in there.

He kept bending them apparently can't imagine why

You'd think some TTB Beams or something, but they probably wouldn't take the weight to well :notsure:

    Says the Pre-runner :p

I don't think he's had 4WD for quite sometime (no front driveshaft).

Forgot to post this last week when I did it.... (yes I know cage is rusty, pulling whole truck apart for new paint in coming weeks)

Trying to make the Bed area more useful. Mounted Thule basket on 2 crossbars that are attached via Bushings/pin so that the whole basket can be removed or I can pivot it to one side to access area under it.

Plan is to plate between frame rails and put mesh on sides of cage. This will give me an area to mount jack, fluids, and probably relocate air tank there.

Nice Idea! I might consider something like this for weekend runs. Losing most of my storage space with the cage. Definitely like the removable/pivot capability.

Took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do but I am very happy with it. The space under now can be reserved for truck stuff instead of having to throw my camping and hunting stuff down there. Plus that stuff wont mix with truck fluids and such now (was a concern for packing deer out this year).

Bets part is that when pivoted up it actually stops and sits very securely on the top of my ammo cans. Added bonus having everything somehow mounted perfectly to where this happened.
