Word. Has anyone been able to tell a difference? I'm about to drop some monies on a new filter and was thinking about buying a sock for it at the same time.

keeps sand out, larger debris from clogging the filter W pleats, and you can clean it or change it prior to doing the main filter. mud clumps break off, fine dust is still caught at the main filter.

It works better for micro particles and are often made of a water repellent material to disperus water from slight splashes etc. for the $10-30 that they are, they're definitely worth it if your running no fender wells in the desert

So your coil is flexing sideways and rubbing on the shock body? Coil bind is something different.

18" spring are tall so they flex side to side more. It's normal, springs aren't perfect and they do flex like that. The shorter the spring, the less it will flex, that's the idea behind running a 16" spring.

As long as the 16" spring has enough spring travel, at least 8 inches in this case, you can run it on your 8" coilover. Don't forget to take preload into account, when you preload a spring, you are subtracting that amount from its coil travel.

16" springs on 8" coilovers don't give you much room for preload for ride height because they typically don't have much more than 8" of coil travel in the higher spring rates generally used on bolt on toyota LT kits.

18" springs flex sideways more and will rub more on the shock body, but have more spring travel so you have more wiggle room with preload.

Preload shouldn't really be used for ride height adjustment, but when you aren't a mechanical engineer with access to scales to weigh your truck at each wheel, or a budget to swap springs till you find the one that's perfect for your truck, you do what you can. It still doesn't really change ride height much though.

SAW shocks are shorter than Fox/King so they need 16 springs to be able to get the coils mounted on the shocks (unless you use coil compressors to help mount the springs) I imagine the Camburg LT Fox coilovers with the external threaded top cap take a 16" coil for the same reason, but I haven't seen a pair myself so I'm not sure.

In summary, no matter what you do, you're f:)cked
