It's not really tightness you're looking for. It's dependent on the desired ride height when the coilovers are installing in your truck.

The exactly settings are specific to each truck and will be a trial-and-error thing as you make adjustments, measure, adjust, measure, etc.

The driver's side will need more preload than the passenger side to compensate for the extra weight on that side of the truck.

I use an allen wrench that fits tight in the hole. Im pretty sure its an SAE size. It works pretty good and leaves very small marks but doesnt bother me. Otherwise you will have to get one of these

Do not tighten them yet though. You will most likely have to put at least one of them in without a coil while installing your suspension so you can cycle the suspension

Factory mounts are around 1/8-3/16 if I remember correctly. I built mine out of 1/4"
If your baller status you can go that route. I bet your looking close to 300+ I know thats what Bonzen and DMZ both quoted me. I built mine cost me about 40bucks to make mine including metal, bushings, sleeves, 9/16" bolts, and 5/16" bolts. Granted it did take me about 3 days to get them installed.:(

Don't forget that it's not just the motor mount that can break. I pushed a motor mount through the wall of the frame and didn't even break the motor mount. Luckily the shop was able to get in there and rebuild everything (and gusset it).

Do you need to remove the front diff to gusset the motor mounts?! or what's the best way to reach them, looking to do this when I gusset everything else!

    Thanks

Im sure that is possible figuring the frame is only about 1/8 -3/16" thick but rare at the same time. When i did my new frame side I plated the frame in that area with 1/8"

Edit: didnt see you have an 06 dont know if the frame thickness is any different but I doubt it is. But again pre-taco's had a fully boxed frame all the way back.

Tell you the truth there is no real easy way to do it since the engine bay is pretty much in the way. I welded as much as I could from underneath then crawled into the engine bay the best I could and did the best I could. I plan to clean them up some when I do cage work.

Yea, It was a giant pain in the ass. Hardest part was cutting to old mounts off without hitting starter, and power steering hoses with the grinder.

If its a race proven truck which I don't think this one is but I'm sure it can be. It would sell for that without links.

Cool LT taco. I'd see it going for 16-17K though depending on how quick he is trying to get rid of it. It hasn't been abused yet because the shocks arent tuned yet for the truck. Speaking of tuning I'm still too lazy to pull out a few shims out of my rear shocks.
