thats weird dammit I need a set of those!!!!!!!! how about the 4wd that need to cut their coil bucket and then flip the mount upside down? maybe they got an updated shock that works for both 2wd and 4wd well actually i giuess thats only a problem for those of us with fox shocks and the older design.

    4wd.

with the cut coil bucket ,flipped mount and upper shock mount raised an inch or so up.

Call TC. When I called, they said that I couldn't use my brand new off-the-shelf FOX 2.5x8's with their stuff. Apparently FOX makes a 2.5x8 specifically for TC and their LT kits which are shorter overall and have a different top cap design etc...

I was trying to tell them that all I needed was a low profile mount which would accept a 0.50" shock bolt with 1.25" between the bungs. They persisted that only the TC-specific FOX's would work.

Called Camburg, they said that their Tacoma kits are made to work with off-the-shelf FOX's.

Lol thats funny because its the opposite with 1st gens. Camburg uses a short body shock and TC uses the standard 2.5x8

Idk, just going off what he said, I just know for 1st gens lol

All Camburg kits for 1st gens use a shock that collapses to 14 3/8". I am pretty sure most 2.5x8's collapse to 16". The King shock issue was different, Camburg told me King doesnt make one and I had to buy their Fox or SAW at $1200 (also 14 3/8" collapsed). So I called King and DSM and they said they were very familiar and made one for me

According to DSM, off the shelf 2.5x8 FOX collapse to 17.5"

    Lots of expensive shit
With all the new OEM shocks companies are offering, most companies have an externally threaded top cap design now so pretty much everyone offers a compact body shock. Sway away has done this for a long time which is why they were the shortest shock for so long.

The toyotas need the compact size shock, trying to mount a standard length 8" shock pushes the lower mount out very far, and on the first gen tundra/tacomas, that is a problem because the front mounted caliper.

Camburg chooses to use SAW and FOX mostly, that may have been why they told you King doesnt make one.

I use ADS for all my shocks, and they make a compact body 8" for me. They also make the billet adapters to go with the shock for me.
