I wouldn't say it's that skewed. I just looked at this thread again:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/lo...any-long-travel-trucks-tw-25.html#post5554920

I realize it's not the complete list of trucks that are LT on here and I skimmed it pretty fast, but I counted 13 trucks that were 4x4 (maybe more) out of 48.

That's closer to 25% (rounded down) instead of 5% that are 4x4. Even if we add the new kids on the block, I'm still thinking closer 15-20%.

looking for one, being in Hawaii I don't think 2wd vs 4wd makes too much of a diff. Just found some rally'n ground and met another guy with pimp'd out titan. Hopefully find someone selling one or thinking about it and getting it shipped out here. There is nothing out here even close to nice worth buying, looks like importing is my only chance from the mainland.

    Welcome to the forums.

Buying a used LT truck sight unseen is a risky move. Any LT truck that sees dirt battles gremlins. Some guys stay on top of it more than others.

Hell... buying a used LT truck without someone who has experience with them with you is asking for trouble. I wouldn't buy a used LT truck without throwing it on jackstands and going through everything with a fine tooth comb. It's not that I would demand perfection, I would just want to know what I'm getting into.

I totally understand, (and living in Hawaii has its limitations) I've been through a couple big jeep builds and I'm tired of slow offroading, looking for a new toy and new direction. I see peoples post counts and go through their build threads as well. Im not new to forums or projects for that matter, just want to start a new toy and have been hooked on pre-runners for a while now. Just never dove into one yet. Keep me posted if you know someone or a buddy maybe thinking of selling and shoot me a pm. I'll keep hunting and lurking :D

Try to keep one thing in perspective.
There is no mathematical equation that puts post count in perspective with the member's truck, build quality, knowledge and maintenance....especially on TW.

As much as I love my Toyota, I'm thinking about selling it since I have a 1 year old that I cant take him in since it has race seats in it. If your interested I'd be willing to drop it off where ever you need for shipping.

I agree with you, but in his case I think if enough people were to back up the truck than he can get a good fell for it and not get screwed. I know how well my Yota runs and would be willing to take it to a shop like Camburg to have them do a once over on it so the buyer felt comfortable with his purchase.

Nobody is confusing zip's shit with batch's shit.
He's the kind of tool that gives the real desert racing enthusiast a bad reputation too.

Ya batch is some scary stuff. I'd be scared to be driving around on that shit.

Like I said I don't usually talk bad about shops or people unless I've had 1st hand experience, but just thought I would throw those links up for ya incase u were considering some mor extensive work.

You going to pismo Saturday? I got go ahead from mission control! Wifey gave me balls but have to have them back by 5pm :)
