yeah stock hub assembly. They don't seam to catastrophically fail very often and we like the idea of people being able to upgrade their truck one part at a time. new hubs mean new $1000+ axles. We'd like to do a badass kit with dana44 outers similar to solos kit but unfortunately not to many people have that big of a lump sum sitting around for their newish daily driver Tacoma.

spydertrax makes some pretty badass hub assemblies. I've wondered if one them could be adapted. Although $500 a pop makes it not really worth it. the R&D that goes into a 4x4 hub is not something very many shops like to tackle. Thats why you'll see a lot of companies like Solo using a pre existing design like the dana 44 spindle because they work great and already exist for $50 from pick ur part.

They don't Catastrophically fail, no...Yes the Idea to be able to upgrade one part at a time is quite appealing to those on a tight budget.

As for the Dana 44 Hubs, The Idea is good, I'm not not a fan of the U-Joint outter they have on their setup or the fact that they aren't ABS Compatible. A 930 or similar joint would be more appealing, IMO.

The Spidertrax Ultimate Unit bearings are very nice, not how they fair for high-speed application as they're designed around rock-crawling, to my knowledge.

They would be the best option for making a bolt kit, as they are similar to the stock wheel bearing assembly. Not sure if anyone has the measurements on them exactly, wouldn't be overly difficult to take some measurements for ABS to be kept in tacked

They look stock length but they are the 3.5" over lowers. They are basically yhe exact same as the stock lowers they make, just extended. I remember when LSK was building my kit, they sent me pics and for a sec i though the same thing. Lol

Is your headliner damaged or is it just getting old. Have you considered pulling it out and reupholstering it? Its a solid rigid piece when you pull it out so im considering this.

No my head liner is fine. Since I caged, my center console and dome light no longer fit. I still plan on using the lights but I have some sheet metal showing through I'd like to cover up

...or I'm open to other ideas

I did but I pulled the rear apart again to add a strut leg to each canti arm and put the metal shims back in to see if there is a difference. I had gaps between the main top leafs and the lower part of the pack sitting at ride height.

Looks like there are some small kinks in how the arc was formed on the main and second leaf and they don't want to "spoon" together nice and tight, ha. See if the shims help. Might drop ride height a little too, all those shims stacked together are over 1/4" high.

Pulled all the plastic sliders other than the leaf under the main which still had the holes since I didnt cut it. From what I understand the plastic sliders are there to make spring production faster/cheaper. It's a lot more labor to smooth and round the ends of each leaf so they don't grind into the next leaf up than it is to just cut them quick with a metal worker or shear leaving the edges sharp and unfinished, punch holes, pop in discs, and slap em together.

Does any of this really matter? probably not, total waste of time? probably yes.

There is a third senario on leafs other than them sitting too high or too low. Sitting just right! Then they will sag too low. If they sit just a tad too high, they will never sag. ha.
    Leaf springs suck.
