just because he's running a special type of transmission doesnt mean it has to be offset. It's offset probably because he wants something to be center. The only thing that needs to be center that is so important as to offset your whole drivetrain would be centermount front 4x4 drivetrain. That's just my guess tho.

I only read real quick but it looks like that gearbox can be used for 4x4 and a few speculating he may go 4x4 in the future, but doesn't look like he has yet

Truck is a running a v drive like a boat. Thats why the diff is off centered. It has the engine in the rear going to the v drive and back out to the diff

And the albins is a huge deal because its a close ratio trans with 3 more gears than a turbo 400.

I've seen 118 on the GPS in Paul Tracys sand car in a wheelie with the 5 spd albins. Lets you get through the gears with no power loss and runn taller gears. Taller gears = less wheel spin and more traction.

what is the difference between running a shock at 100psi and say like 150? im rebuilding my bypasses in about an hour and i was just curious. ive always ran 150 or whatever it says on the resi

From what I have read you want at least 150-200 to keep the shock from cavitation (sp?) when you push the piston through the oil it will move the resi divider instead of forcing the oil through the piston

Edit: But for bypasses with the resi hose coming off the bottom of the shock this may not be true. I would assume that cannot cavitate the same way because the force of the oil is not directed at the resi

mine are like this since i have the piggy back style.

i did revalve them and clean them up and what not and got new oil as well. the old oil was horribly bad. like you were saying, it had obviously cavitated (sp?), good amount of foam at the top and when i was pouring the oil out out, it smelled like a dead body too haha. needless to say the valving was definitely not set up for a leaf spring truck. compression was .10 and rebound was a .20. i switched it up to .12comp and .10rebound.

hopefully be back with results in the afternoon
