Okay, once again...still can't decide what to do with my truck...

I've been talking to Mike @ Defined Engineering and he said that if I really really really want to keep a SOA setup max. travel would be about 11-12" of travel, and that if I go with his SUA setup, I shouldn't loose much clearance from running shocks in their current positions to switching it up, so I'm wondering what you guys think?

Also, if you know anyone with this kit (yes I know Special_K has it) that does some trails/rocks offroading let me know!

No they will not work and yes you would have to use the adaptor but you will lose about 2" of travel in doing so. Some people will suggest having icon build you shocks that will work but I have found that all pro is very secretive about their shock specs and will not disclose that information to anyone.

The Fox shocks that they sell are very highly rated with good reviews and according to all pro they have been developed specifically for use with their kit which is why you do not need to run limit straps (something about an internal limiter)

You would need the spacer. Call AP and they will give you dimensions. Your two main options are the fox or walker shocks offered by AP - they are made specifically for their kit. You could also run an 8" CO but you would need to strap it to prevent the CVs from binding.

All pro will tell you exactly the specs you need - it's just that no one makes a coil over in that size and markets it directly to the public. They're sold through AP. It's basically a 7" coil over.

The Specs I need and the Specs I want are completely different things my friend.

I think you need to go re-measure the exposed shaft at full droop then, unless my tape measure is broken its longer than 7". Maybe 7" from the top of the spring retainer to the bottom of the shock body but take a look specifically at the dimensions of the lower retainer and how wide it is.

It wold appear to me that at full compression the shock body will fit inside of it allowing for an additional inch or two of up travel. In addition, the lower eyelet on the all pro kit is about 1.5" lower than TC or Camburg, and the kit still pulls 12" of travel... not possible with a 7" coilover.

Have you gotten a chance to take yours apart yet and look at it?

I have a question. Im currently building a bumper. Should I make it a bolt on or weld on. Im thinking more and more it should be bolt on. Mostly so If someone would like one i could replicate it. Either way i can replicate it but most enjoy the simplicity of bolt on parts.

I bolted mine for certian reasons. I know NelsonMatt's is welded, And some are bolted. I guess its stronger if you weld it. But then agian you can use some grade 8 bolts and make it a tight fit. I would say bolt on! Easier to paint too! Or fix if something happens or resell.

x2 i went with bolt on because its easier if something needs to be painted or if the bumper is in the way you can just grab the drill and take off 6 bolts and your set
