What's the consensus on led bars with a good balance between price and quality? I'm looking for a 6" dual row to replace a headlight on a dual sport bike, and although I'm willing to spend on it, I'm not sure if i can justify rigid prices. Any thoughts?

LED bars are a total rip off for price/performance. Its just everyone has a hard on for them.

HIDs are still king by far for price/performance point.

I have halogens, LEDs, and HIDs on my truck now. Nothing comes close to the HIDs.

but for a motor cycle..might not be bad. The thing LEDs suffer from mainly is they don't have the range due to the smaller optics vs the larger housings of other lights.

So really LEDs i like to use as flood/fill lights for around the truck. HIDs for distance and halogens are like both but not as intense.

Just my opinion after using and installing all 12 or so pairs of lights on my truck.

LEDs im sure WILL catch up in terms of performance and price point..but not for another 5 years at least id guess.

Yeah I definitely agree on all points, I have a few 8" HID's laying around but I don't really want to put that thing on front of this bike, nor make the stator support it (its kickstart.. no battery).
I figure LED's will have low power draw, and I can fit a 6" dual row behind the mask that's on front. The current headlight isn't even close to bright enough for my liking, especially off-road at night. Any opinions on good brands for the price?

From what i have seen okledbars is the best bang for buck really. xvison ain't bad too.

But it sounds like an LED is better for your bike as yes they do draw the lowest power. Just don't expect a miracle of light. I mean..it'll be better then what you have im sure..but it won't go as far as you'd think.

Also don't get sucked into the Lumens thing. Its all bullshit. Just like speakers and wattage. Lumens are imporant..but not as important as marketing makes it out to be.

    Edit:

    Here is link: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/group-buys/292842-okledlightbars-group-buy-3-a.html

    $95 bucks for a 6''

But id go for okledbars..hell there is even a group buy going on right now.

35 watt HID on a kick start 2 stroke... I have a small NiCad RC car type looking battery pack in the air box for my setup. Stator was fairly cheap, wired in a rectifier to convert ac to dc which I'd think you'd have to do for LED anyways and I'm running the trail tech battery. I love my setup!

Nice i'll have to look into that! As well as converting ac to dc, I just assumed that the current light on it was DC
