I'd post pics of the first gen I did with shocks outside the frame, but my micro SD said fuck you today when I was copying the files and I lost 3500 pictures.

Mount it forward on the axle and run wheel spacers. With the shock angle it pretty much clears the shock

 

damn i woulda liked to have seen that. I think i wanna run a tundy axle and shocks out side the frame.

 

ive been trying to buy a tundra axle for the past week but this guy on craigslist keeps dicking around....

 

Just skip the middle man and go to a 9". I guarantee you'll do it one day anyway.

 

yea..but a tundra axle shares the same diff..so more cost effective anyways.

full 9'' out of what though?? or is it all custom?

 

There is a thousand different ways to run a 9". Start with a junkyard out of an econoline. We raced on one for years. I'm running a fully fabbed 9" for the first time now.

so i got these mounts from some dude that sold me his shocks. said he got them from camburg. i cant seem to find anything about them. what are they worth?

 

Don't get me wrong I love toyota axles! I ran then for years. There is just so many more options when you go to a 9".

 

What do you use for the drive shaft??

 

hmmm I've got a 70's F100 with a 9"

 

I have a modified stock drive shaft. It's a 2wd but has a slip yoke in the rear. Also has been machined to separate at the carrier. Tundra drive shafts are weird though

So you need a custom one basically?

Tundra axle will just use my stock driveshaft.

 

I only have custom because its 2wd and the tundra drive shaft doesn't separate at the carrier like a Tacoma does. If you have a 4wd drive shaft on a Tacoma all you need need is a simple adapter at the u joint too the diff

 

Ahhhh I see okay.

And you still need an adapter even though it's the same rear diff?
