Long Travel BS Thread

    the mounting of my stock bucket seats? sure. Haven't pulled both seats before though i cant say that the brackets are designed very differently..

    Are you saying they are different or not?

    Yeah just the stock mounting locations... ANd maybe a picture of the front and rear feet?

    yea the brackets mount differently. Ill got get photos.

    But the distance from the front left to rear left is about 17.5-18''

    front left to front right is about 17.5''

    give or take a tad.

    The rear right mount though is what is different if i remember right. On a 1st gen it mounts side ways to the tyranny tunnel. I don't think this part is the same on 2nd gens.

    Ill got snap some photos.

    the coilover is in the way. I need to support the outside some how

    Why? All i see your missing is the inner anlge piece talked about yesterday..otherwise looks very similar to a lot of other bed cages i have seen..

    I guess you it you HAVE to take a piece from the out side and back down to the frame?

    is this kind of bump steer normal? and if it isnt, how can I get rid of it? my guess is that when the arm compresses, the tie rod swings upwards and closer to the rack, toeing the tire in. but why isn't it doing it at droop too? its a total chaos full uniball kit

    Are they toed in a little at ride height? I'm guessing they don't toe at droop because at full droop is where the tie-rods even up with the arms.

    if you dont have double sheered tie rod mounts, then you can use bump steer spacers. There are a lot of write ups on how to measure and correct bumpsteer.

    theyre double shear, the heim fits perfectly into the spindle and a bolt runs through that. any other ideas?

    yea. cut the shears off and weld them to the correct position. I've seen it done a some kits in person and it got rid of the bump steer. A Failgage kit with Solo spindles from bumpsteer to clean travel in an afternoon.
