that would be awesome! i'm about to yank some out of a junk yard and rebuild them to have some reliable spares to bring wheeling. never rebuilt a cv before, so even just some pictures of what to expect would be fantastic.

Alright Well once I order some stock half shafts from the auto parts store I'll start a thread. Just wanted to see if there was enough interest to do one because write ups take forever to make.

Colin - The key with CVs is take your time, Don't get dirt in them, and Use good grease that has graphite in it.

This is what we use on The 5/1600 car. We tried cheap grease and it screwed a set of CVs up so we stuck with just using the good stuff lol

a cv write-up would be great! Ive rebuilt axles on my old honda, built a motor that was supposed to make about 240whp, dropped it in the car with the stock axles, pulled out the drive way headed to the dyno, got on it a little in 2nd and completely shattered all three bearings in both axles!! haha! wonder if its about the same, i would guess so, like you said amaes, watch the debris! I learned that when i pulled them back out a few hundred miles later and the bearings where trashed

Yes, same principle though. This is a vid of how to get them apart without a press. I didn't know this when I installed my 300M axles and ended up cutting the stock shaft, flipping the CV joint and removing the ball bearings that way. Also if you buy the boot kit from Toyota it comes with grease.
