This is the most accurate regear tool I have ever used, but keep in mind it uses ACTUAL tire diameter to calculate. Most tires don't measure out to what is on the sidewall, ie 35's are actually 34". The 05+ 6 speed is the RA60F for 4wd's, 2wd is RA60.

Matt, consider a shaved GM 14 bolt. You can find them in military surplus cheap, and the ones from under the CUCV have a detroit locker and 4.56 gears from the factory. Shaved they have more ground clearance than a 9", and they are full float and indestructible (even you can't break one) with tons of aftermarket support. They came under every 3/4 and one ton chevy for about 20 years, easy to find parts for anywhere.

^ how the hell did you clear 37s, i just beat the shit out of my inner fender to flatten it as much as possible and now i bearly have almost 2 inches but when i turn and flex it will rub, it started to take tiny chunks in the past two days i had these on so i just smoothed it out as much as i could so even if it rubs it wont tear up the tires, any other suggestions? and i really dont wanna crank up my coils

I removed my coilovers and bolted the tires on. Spray paint the inner fender and put chalk on the tire, then let the jack down and turn the tires lock to lock. Jack it back up and you can see the chalk on the fresh paint, then massage it with a BFH (big fuckin' hammer). Repeat until you don't get chalk on the paint. For the 37's I drew a line roughly from the rubber plug to the lower fender bolt and sawzalled that off all the way to the body mount, you might not have to. I removed the inner fender above the tire so that clears, and beat my firewall in so far that it split in a couple spots and my clutch wouldn't go far enough to let the motor start. I finally figured out what that clutch start cancel button is for, Toyota designed them for 37's the way I see it. :D

You nancy. Want me to hold your bottle while you suckle too? lol. Yeah, I can give you a hand, but you can do it if you put the hamster on the wheel for a minute. I can tell by your hammer marks you don't have much sheetmetal experience. You were wailing on it at it's strongest point, the pinchweld is four layers thick and spot welded and is an integral part of the A pillar. Metal "shrinks" if you put dents in it, so to pull the pinch weld further away from the tire bash on the flat part on either side and shrink the metal. A ball peen hammer is good for this, or an air chisel with a blunt bit. As a last resort, you can use your alignment cams to shift the caster away from the firewall, but it will make it handle like wheelbarrow with a fat chick in it. Here's a better angle of my destruction.

yeah the top part of the strip was easy and as it got to the bottom you could tell there were more layers and yeah i honestly just hammered away and the strip that sticks out till it was flat and i hit it at the bottom anywhere i thought it would rub but mainly where it curves was the tricky part, im not sure how to go about doing that part because i hammer one side and the other side comes out and thats mainly where it rubs, i learn alot better if i see what has to be done in person:rolleyes: thanks alot for the info im gonna keep looking around and seeing what other trucks did too

Triangles are the strongest geometric shape and bacon is delicious. A "swingset" A frame looking dealy whopper would be stronger, but your design will work with a decent fabricator.

I didn't say I wouldn't help you in person, just trying to teach you how to fish instead of handing you dinner.
