    Quick question:

My King coils have settled quite a bit since I put them on the shocks, so today I cranked the collars down about 1/2" of thread. They are King 16" 700lbs springs on King 8" coilovers with Icon top hats.

Ride height is where I want it now, but my UCA angles seem a bit extreme. Also, do my coils look like they will bind at this much preload? You can see where the collar was before I adjusted it, there's a line of dirt on the threads.

I know a longer spring will work better for my setup. I'm trying to sell these springs so I can get some King 18" 700lbs coils. That will pretty much solve the problem, but this is my temporary fix. The truck just had too much rake before with that heavy bumper and 4WD.

Replacing coil springs today, lower shock bolt was frozen in place. Broke a 1/2" drive craftsman breaker bar trying to free it. Damn near broke my elbow when it happened, slammed it on something. Sears replaced it and we got the bolt broken loose.

Agreed. Dude needs 18's. The block height on 16" 700lb coils is 8", so 8" of travel...on an 8" shock that is no bueno with any significant preload.

Shocks are rebuilt, revalved, new springs and back on the truck. Thank god Trigo dropped by to help out, those 12"s are heavy, bulky bastards. With the new coils I was able to bump up the ride height a bit. Heading out next weekend to test.

Zactly. It's either 60mm or 66mm... it's hard to guess as that truck is right on the cusp of when they changed them. Those half years end up with all sorts of weird ass parts on them sometimes.

Thanks man, I hope it's not too much, but if it is I can always open up some bypass tubes just for the trip. You going out next weekend?

Was wondering the same... How do you know what it's plunging?

Cool man. Id watch those tabs that that cross brace is bolted to. Not much support against twisting and side loads on those shock mounts.
